As our ancestors moved west from the Original Colonies, where did they go?
When we are looking for a particular state or county, it's sometimes
helpful to get several different points of view. Each author has
his/her own unique perspective. This Super Site is a compilation of links to the official websites of the various states (where available) and to other information offered by the major genealogical and historical networks. Some sites are on more than one network. Just click on the one you want. Because of the pictures, some of them are slow loading so be patient. Sometime "Reload" helps speed it up. The material belongs to the authors. It is not copied here, merely linked. They can change or upgrade it at any time. So you might like to compare and check their sites from time to time. The networks represented here are American Historical & Genealogical Project (AHGP), American Local History Network (ALHN), USGenWeb (USGW), and Independent files (IND). Those not highlighted are waiting for you to put something there. If you have something you'd like included, just send an email. A plus sign (+) indicates there's more than one, so click it too. Sometime the places our ancestors went are no longer in existence. So, another column has been added for Ghost Towns (GT). Historic locations, no longer present can often be found at The New U.S. and Territories Query or at GNIS. The Time Line helps put our ancestors' lives into perspective. If you find a relative and want to determine the relationship, use the Consanguinity Chart.
