Melville Schake with his horse taken from a 1915 Postcard. He was the adopted son of Fritz and Louisa Schake, last known to live in Pamona, California circa 1920. As of today we know nothing more of his life. Picture provided by Mrs. Edna Buescher of Columbia, Missouri. Edna is the step-granddaughter of Fritz. Louisa Schake had nine children by her first husband William Offel. Emma Emily Offel became Edna Buscher's mother, while Alvina Offel would marry William Ritter, son of Marie Ernstine Elizabeth Schake and Karl Simon August Ritter.
