SARAH ELIZA BYRD STRANGE
Sarah Eliza Byrd Strange was born December 29, 1870 the
daughter of Jesse Blackston Byrd and Eliza Jane Lewis Wallace Byrd.
Sarah lived to be almost 100 years old, passing away on April 7, 1970.
She was a very special lady who passed along family history to her children,
grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her son, George Glenn Strange was a
famous actor, who played such parts as Frankenstein, and was best known
for his role as Sam, the bartender on Gunsmoke. Photo courtesy of
