CORBET "JEFF" TURNER

 

In Loving Memory of

Corbet “Jeff” Turner

Corbet “Jeff” Turner, Kimberling City, Missouri, son of George and Vella (Underwood) Turner was born August 11, 1913 in Radical Missouri and departed this life January 27, 2004 in St. Agnes Hospital, Fresno, California at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 16 days.

Corbet was a lifelong resident of the area.  As a young man, he worked for the U.S. Forestry Department and later in life he was a fishing guide on the White River and Table Rock Lake.  He retired as a carpenter in 1978.

Corbet was preceded in death by his parents, George and Vella; six brothers, Tompie and his wife, Mary, Efton, Paul and his wife Alice, Andrew (Jack), Willard, and Almon (Sam) and two sisters, Effie and Donie.

Survivors include:  two sons, Robert Turner of Boise, Idaho and Corbet Turner and his wife, Karen of Kissee Mills, Missour; two daughters, Janice Clagg and her husband, Alan of Fresno, California and Sandy Humphreys and her husband Jack of Huntsville, Alabama; one step-son, Eugene Todd and his wife, Shirley of Morrisville, Missouri; two sisters, Maude Carney of Kilgore, Texas and Georgia Reese and her husband Steve of Springfield, Missouri; three sister-in-laws, Alene Turner and Betty Turner both of Reeds Spring, Missouri, and Gladys Hendrickson of Galena, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends.

 Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in Stumpff Chapel-South, Kimberling City, Missouri with Raymond Lasseter officiating.  Burial was in Philibert Cemetery, Kimberling City, Missouri. (Submitted by Sandy Humphreys)
