J.H. "Uncle Buddie" Standridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Standridge, was born in Arkansas Oct 30, 1862 and departed this life at his home in Galena, Mo., Dec. 14, 1953 at the age of 91 years, one month and 14 days.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Baker, Dec 14, 1884 and to this union three sons and one daughter were born. Two sons preceded him in death.

Those left to mourn his departure are his wife, Sarah of the home; one son, E.J. Standridge of Galena, and one daughter Mrs. Etta Gamble of Springfield; two half brothers: Squire Meeks, Galena, and Jerry Meeks of Arkansas; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

He was converted 54 years ago and joined the Methodist church of Galena. He was a kind husband, a loving father and a good citizen. He will be missed by friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o-clock in the Galena Community church with Rev. J. Edward Dougherty of Galena officiating. Burial was in the Galena cemetery under the direction of Everett J. Cheatham of Galena.
