(From the Springfield Leader & Democrat-April 8, 1898) DEATH OF WILSON PRICE
Wilson Price, a prominent farmer residing one and half miles south of Billings, died at 8:20 o'clock last evening from Bright's disease. He was 52 years of age and leaves a wife and five children. Mr. Price was an ex-Confederate soldier and served under Gen. Lee, participating in all engagements form the battle of Bull Run until the surrender at Appomattox, although he was fortunate enough to escape without a wound. The funeral will be held this afternoon. *Note by Jo Dunne: Wilson Price was a son of my great-great-great-grandfather, Jerimiah Price. Wilson was born February 24, 1845 in North Carolina. He was married first to Lydia Goble, and second to Margaret Chapman Stirewalt. |
