Clara E. Lauritzen, 92, Joplin, died June 14,l982 at St.
John's Regional Medical Center. She had been in ill health for four
years.
She was born February 10, 1890, in Galena, Missouri,
daughter of Hattie Cagle and Absalom H. Blythe. She married Clarence
E. Brown, and moved to Oklahoma, where he died in 1930. She later
married Paul Lauritzen, and lived in Tekoa, Washington. He passed
away in 1965. She returned to Joplin about four years ago.
She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Hope Chapter
No. 29, Order of the Eastern Star, Oaksdale, WA , and the Ladies Auxiliary
Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 347, Tekoa.
Survivors include two daughters, Faye Moore of Joplin,
and Edith Bonnette, Southbridge, Massachusetts; a son, Dale Brown, Spokane,
Washington; two sisters, Allie Campbell, Bishop, California, and
Fannie Hemphill, Galena, Missouri, eight grandchildren, and twenty great
grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Inez Rogers,
two sisters, Julia Horn and Frankie Blythe, and one brother, Clevy Blythe.
Services will be at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, at 2 p.m. on Friday. J. K. Wright, Minister, will officiate. Burial will be at GAR Cemetery, Miami, Oklahoma. Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. (Submitted by Richard A. & Linda M. Lorange)
