He was the youngest of a family of five born to James Nathaniel and Ellen Scott who were early settlers in Stone county.
He was married to Visa May January 6, 1879 at Galena. To this union was born five children, four of whom are living. He is survived by his wife, Visa Scott, three daughters, Mrs. B.E. Wilbur of Stuttgart, Ark., Mrs Charles Hanniff and Mrs Jim Benham of Galena, and one son, Clyde of Chickasha, Okla. He has twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren, several other relatives and a host of friends to mourn his departure.
Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Everett Cheatham funeral home with the Rev. Frank Eaton officiating and burial was in the Galena cemetery.
