ESTHER
(A Brief Authentic History)


The survey of Esther was made by the Doe Run Lead Company in 1922. The Company reserved the right of possession of any minerals found within the limits of the town. The town had fifteen blocks. The Koen Creek runs along the northeastern side of Esther and when surveyed the Illinois Southern Railroad and the St. Francois County Railroad ran through the town from the northwest to the southeast.
