Cecil Norwines Golden Wedding Anniversary 1948

NORWINES TO OBSERVE GOLDEN WEDDING

Mr. and Mrs. W. Cecil Norwine, 416 W. Main, Flat River, who have been residents here for forty-five years, will on Sunday, October 31, observe their fiftieth or Golden Wedding Anniversary. The actual anniversary date is on November 2.

Mr. and Mrs. Norwine (Annie L. Dunaway) were married in St. Louis and lived there until 1903, when they moved to Flat River. Mr. Norwine was engaged in the mercantile business with his father, the late A. J. Norwine, and his brother, C.E. Norwine, at the New Era, later known as the Norwine Mercantile, in Flat River until he retired three years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Norwine are active members of the Taylor Avenue Methodist Church.

They have a son, Courtney Norwine, who is employed as an electrical engineer for the Bell telephone Co. in New York. With his wife and three sons, he resides in Short Hills, N.J. The grandsons are: David, a student at Bucknell University, Phillip and Christopher, at home. Courtney plans to be here for the celebration of his parents' anniversary.
