Foxes Celebrate 50th

John P. Fox and Frances (Brewster) Fox will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 1, 2006. Married in 1956, Mr. and Mrs. Fox were the first couple married at the Delassus Baptist Church in Delassus, Mo. Mr. Fox served in the US Air Force for over 20 years in functions ranging from Military Police to USAF Recruiter. The Foxes enjoyed the many locations across the US and overseas at which Mr. Fox was stationed. He then joined the Farmington Police Department before operating his own trucking company. He has since operated a family farm in Ste. Genevieve County.

Mrs. Fox retired from the US Postal Service after 22 years of service. She worked many years in Civil Service during the family's Air Force years and worked at Montgomery Ward in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of her special hobbies is baking cookies for her grandchildren and friends.

The Foxes are very active in various branches of the International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) and have each held local, State, and International positions. They enjoy traveling throughout the US for Lodge activities and visiting many friends in the US and Canada. For several years, the Foxes attended special Lodge services at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Washington D.C. where Mrs. Fox represented the State of Missouri in laying a wreath at the Tomb. Mr. Fox is also active in the Masons and the American Legion.

The Foxes have two children, Mary Anne Fox of Collinsville, Illinois, and John Fox, Jr. (wife Melinda), of Ste. Genevieve County, five grandchildren, and one great grandson.

The family is planning a special anniversary celebration dinner for the occasion.
