LEAD COMPANY EMPLOYEE RETIRED

George Ephram Johnson of Farmington Route 2, was retired on August 1 by St. Joseph Lead Company, after 40 years' continuous employment. Born in Alliance, Bollinger County, Mo., he lived on Houser Street, Flat River, for 22 years and the past 18 years has resided at his present address.

He was married September 27, 1923, to Edith Jones. They have no family. Mr. Johnson served one month during 1918 in the United States Army. His only hobby is gardening.

He began working for Federal Lead Company and transferred to St. Joseph Lead Company when Fderal properties were acquired by St. Joe. His entire service was in the Mining Department, as loader, trackman, development driller and car cleaner. He holds the Joseph Holmes Award for 20 years' service without a lost time accident.
