GLENWOOD HULSEY IS PENSIONED BY ST. JOE

 

Glenwood Hulsey of 21 Franklin St., Flat River, retired Jan. 1, 1965, from St. Joseph Lead Company. He is holder of the Joseph Holmes Award for safety and has never lost a shift of work due to personal illness.

Mr. Hulsey was born in Doe Run and was first employed by St. Joe in March, 1917. He worked intermittently from then until Aug., 1919, and was re-employed Jan. 1, 1920, and worked up until Dec. 31, 1964. In the course of his employment, Mr. Hulsey worked as a Rock Dumper, Motor Inspector and Electrician in the Milling Department. On Jan. 7, 1927, he was transferred to the Shops Department as an Electrician and continued in this capacity until Sept. 16, 1947, when he was advanced to Shop Foreman.

The pensioner and his wife, the former Delma Yount, were married March 5, 1920. They have three children, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A son, Glendal, lives at Orlando, Florida. Daughters are Mrs. Hugh (Dorothy) Griffin of West Palm Beach, Florida and Laverne Bohs of St. Louis.

Mr. Hulsey enjoys church work, home work and fishing. He and his wife are members of the Church of God in Doe Run. They are planning a trip to Florida in the spring.
