MINER KILLED BY FALLING ROCK
AT THE NATIONAL MINES LAST SATURDAY.

Bertus Neelep [sic Neely], age 37 years, whose home is at Sunlight in Washington County, but who has been employed for the past six months by the St. Louis Smelting and Refining Company, underground, was killed instantly, Friday evening about 9 o'clock by falling back. He was caught in such a way that his skull was crushed.
The remains were taken to the Rinke Undertaking establishment where an inquest was held, Saturday morning by Coroner C. J. Hill, of Bismarck. Mr. Rinke prepared the body for burial. Intement was made at Caledonia Sunday. Mr. Neeley (sic) is survived by a wife and eight children who had remained on the farm at Sunlight, where the husband and father had been employed here.
