Willis Sansoucie was a PFC 37th Infantry Division, 145 Reg, 30 BN Co G South Pacific.  The following is his story:

"After training in Alabama, I went to Fort Ord, California.  After that I was shipped to New Caledonia in the Coral Sea.   I was assigned to the 37th Infantry already in the Solomon Islands.  After much fighting in Bougainville, we loaded ships for the attack landing on Luzon, Philippine Islands.   We pushed south toward Manila after a beach head landing.
