John H. Murphy of Bonne Terre was a Tech
Sergeant in the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving with the 92nd Combat Bomb Wing
(H) and the 13th Combat Bomb Wing (H). He
served in England with the 8th Air Force, 3rd Division at Sudbury and Horam in Suffolk
County.
