JOHN J. BRADLEY DIES OF PNEUMONIA IN GERMANY

Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Bradley of Rivermines received a message from the War Department, Thursday, bearing the sad news that their only son, John L., age 30, had died of pneumonia, February 22. The message did not say where John was, but the last letter his parents had from him was written from Spiecler, Germany, and it is supposed he died in a hospital there.

John was a member of Battery E, 341st Field Artillery, with the 89th division. He entered the service in February, 1918 and went overseas in July. He was on the water July 4, according to a letter received from him after his arrival in France. He was in several battles and came through without injury.

Besides his parents he is survived by five sisters, Mrs. P. Wilkinson of Bonne Terre; Mrs. Theodore Ruffing of Desloge; Mrs. Chas. Ruffing of St. Louis; Mrs. J. T. Rice and Miss Gertrude of Flat River.

John Bradley is the third Flat River young man to lay down his life for his country in the great war. The sympathy of the community goes out to the family in their great bereavement.
