Harry E. Gray, of Farmington, served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.  He was a staff sergeant with the 398th Bomb Group (H) 8th Air Force. 

He participated in the following battles: Feb. 3, 1945, at Berlin; Feb. 8, 1945, at Altenbeken; Feb. 14, 1945, at Prague; Feb. 16, 1945, at Munster; Feb. 22, 1945, at Stendal; Feb. 25, 1945, at Munich; Feb. 28, 1945 at Schwerte; March 1,1945 at Neckersuim; March 4, 1945, at Ulm; March 5, 1945, at Chemnitz; March 7, 1945, at Siegen; March 9, 1945, at Kassel; March 11, 1945, at Bremen; March 13, 1945, at Dillenburg; March 17, 1945, at Boblen; and March 18, 1945, at Berlin. 

He was wounded March 18 on a mission to Berlin. 

He was in the hospital until April 25 - the day the Eighth Air Force flew their last combat mission.
