THREE FROM FIELDS FAMILY IN SERVICE

Mrs. Hettie Fields of Leadwood has had three children in the service until recently when one son was discharged.

Sgt. Maurice Fields entered service in May 1945 and received his basic training at Camp Fannin, Texas. He is now stationed at Fort Myer, Virginia and is doing clerical work in Washington, D.C.

His wife, the former Miss Mary Ellen Bono of Desloge, and daughter, Fay Ellen, are with him.

Sgt. Fields graduated from the Leadwood Schools and before entering service was employed in the office of the St. Joseph Lead Company at Bonne Terre.

Sgt. Alta Fields entered service in April, 1945. She is stationed at O'Reilly Hospital, Springfield, Mo., where she is a telephone operator. Sgt. Fields took her training at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.

Before entering service she graduated from the Leadwood Schools with the class of '39. Following her graduation she had employment in the office of the St. Joseph Lead Company at Leadwood.

S 1/c Robert (Bob) Fields received his honorable discharge from the navy air corps, February 24 at Great Lakes. He was in service two years and during this time took radio and radar training. He received his boot training in Farragut, Idaho, and was then sent to Pearl Harbor for a short time.

S 1/c Fields received his education in the Leadwood Schools and graduated in the year of '43. After graduation he was employed with the Wagner Electric Co., in St. Louis.

At the present Fields is living with his mother in Leadwood.
