WELTY R. ENGLEHARDT |

Welty R. Englehardt of Farmington was a Private
in the U.S. Army's Company A, 335th Engineers in World War II. He served in Normandy, North France, Central
Europe, and Rhineland Campaigns.
Jessie Englehardt explained Welty was the
winner of four bronze stars and a good conduct medal while in service, from May 7, 1942 to
Oct. 31, 1945.
"He was in foxhole when a shell killed a
buddy and injured his back. He spent 13 days
on a plank with a sheet over it and then returned to service. He spent 13 days without taking off his shoes and
suffered frost bite.
