ELVINS HONOR ROLL

We are indebted to Mrs. Carr Hartshorn for a list of all the Elvins men who served in the army or navy during the world war. A service flag was placed in a prominent position in the post office and on it these names were placed from time to time, and as it became necessary, stars were placed for those who were killed or wounded. Of the 98 men who went from Elvins, three were killed:

Hervy Blaylock
Lawrence Vaughn
Claude Raymond Hale

Six were wounded in action:

Arthur Wofford
Lester L. Sebastian
Henry Oscar Nabors
Irvin Tycate
[sic - only four names listed]

Of this number all have returned home except Emmett Reece and George and Arthur Bell. Young Reece is still in the navy, having re-enlisted. It is not known where the Bell boys are. It is supposed that they have been released from the army but have not returned to Elvins.
