BONNE TERREJessie Pratte, 100, of Bonne Terre, passed away January 28, 2009 at St. Joe Manor. She was born December 8, 1908 at Old Mines, Mo.

She was a member of the Bonne Terre First Christian Church since 1929. She taught Sunday School for many, many years. She was a homemaker, best known for her cakes, sewing, and poetry.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Frank and Mahalia Jackson DeClue; husband Lee (Dock) Pratte: Five brothers Ben DeClue, Jim DeClue, Tom DeClue, Leon DeClue, Ted DeClue; sisters Kathryn Strausberg, Lena Thurman and twin, Bessie Cash.

Survived by: Daughters, June Mrs. Bill Hall of Farmington, Sally Giesler of Bonne Terre; sons, Larry (Lois) Pratte of Bonne Terre, and John (Ruth) Pratte of Bonne Terre; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, January 30, 2009 at 5 p.m. at C.Z. Boyer and son Funeral Home, Bonne Terre. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. at C.Z. Boyer Chapel with Rev. Patrice Rosner officiating. Interment will be at St. Francois Memorial Park. Memorials First Christian Church, Bonne Terre.

Jessie L. Pratte marks her 100th birthday Dec. 8 in Bonne Terre, with five generations of her family. Daughter Sally Giesler is joined by her son Stephen Mark Mabery, left, and his son, Stephen Mark Mabery, Jr. who holds his daughter, Allison Paige Mabery. Her family says Mrs. Pratt’s best gift was the birth of another great-great grandchild, Jackson Eli Mabery, who arrived on her birthday.  - Submitted photo
