FERD. AUBUCHON |
Ferd. AuBuchon, a well-known citizen of French
Village, and a dealer in general merchandise at that place, was born in Washington County,
Mo., May 24, 1835, the son of Francis and Teressa (Coleman) AuBuchon. He spent his early
years with his parents, engaged in farm duties and in the common school, besides assisting
in his father's blacksmith shop. In 1852 he engaged as clerk in the store of Brickey &
Co., and in 1855 became a partner. The firm name then became F. AuBuchon & Co., and in
1859 was again changed to AuBuchon & Sons. For a number of years, however, he has run
the business alone, and with the usual success that accompanies his efforts. In 1860 he
was married to Miss Luella Brooks, a native of Jefferson County, Mo., and their union has
been blessed by a large family, namely: Lucy F. (now Mrs. E. C. McCormick), Stephen L.,
Betty T., Coiprian T., Flavian P., and Ida Katie. Mrs. AuBuchon passed away March 12,
1882. Miss Annabella, a daughter of John W. and Annabella (Montgomery) Brannon, early
settlers of Missouri, became his wife March 20, 1883. She is a native of St. Louis. The
family worship at the Catholic Church. Mr. AuBuchon is a Democrat, and for the past thirty
