QUAINTANCE, Nellie Kathryn Parker Allen

Funeral services for Nellie Quaintance were held Friday, May 27 at
2:00 p.m. at the Gerster Baptist Church under the direction of the
Goodrich Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Keifer was the officiating
minister and music was furnished by Donna Cruce, soloist with Patty
Parker as accompanist. Casketbearers were Ross Parker, Alton Parker,
C. F. Parker, Paul Edward Allen, Wendel Leiber and Steve Leiber.
Burial was in the King’s Prairie Cemetery.
Nellie Kathryn Quaintance, daughter of Charles R. and Lou Anna Parker,
was born April 24, 1907 and died on May 28, 1977 at the home in
Phoenix after a short illness.
She was married to Wilbur Allen and after his death she was married to
D. E. Quaintance. The couple had four children, Cecil Ross, Harley
Ray, of Phoenix, Ariz., Shirley Matatta, Phoenix and Leroy of Las
Vegas, Nev.
She was a member of the Gerster Baptist Church for many years and
later joined a Baptist church in Phoenix.
Mrs. Quaintance was a native of the Gerster area. She and her late
husband D. E. Quaintance operated a store and post office there.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Cecil A. Quaintance, Harley Ray
Quaintance and Mrs. Shirley Matatta, all of Phoenix and LeRoy
Quaintance, of Las Vegas, Nev.; six brothers, Alton Parker, Hermitage,
Harry and J. E. Parker, Canon City, Col, Floyd Parker, Fontana, Cal.,
C. F. Parker, Gerster and a sister, Mrs. Frances Rose of Springfield,
MO., also nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
QUICK, Larry G.

Larry G. Quick, 50, El Dorado Springs, died Thursday, November 13,
1997, at his home. He was born in Warrensburg on November 30, 1946,
the son of Lester and Thelma Louise (Hensley) Quick. He worked in
maintenance at Barrington Manufacturing in El Dorado Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; two sons, Curtis
Quick of Lamar and Gene Quick of Lowry City; 12 brothers, Harold Quick
of Warrensburg, Ralph Quick of Sedalia, Basil Quick of Louisburg,
Louisiana, Al Quick of El Dorado Springs, Galen Quick of El Dorado
Springs, Denzil Quick and Rodney Quick of Green Ridge, Gary Quick of
Hannibal, Randy Quick of Hughesville, Gerald Quick of Sedalia, Darrel
Quick of Kansas City, and Wendal Quick of Hannibal; two sisters,
Patricia Sutton of Green Ridge and Diane Crawford of El Dorado
Springs, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, November 16, at the Sheldon Chapel in
El Dorado Springs with burial in Benton Green Cemetery.
QUICK, Lester Francis
Lester Francis Quick 76, Weaubleau, died Sunday,
March 14, 1999, in Citizens Memorial Hospital. The son of Charles
Ellsworth and Donia Cecil Quick, he was born Nov. 10, 1922, at Monegaw
Springs. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. A resident of
Weaubleau for the past nine years, he had formerly lived in
Humansville for 21 years. He was a retired truck driver, having driven
for Crawford Oil Company in Humansville for 25 years. He was a member
of the Antioch Christian Church at Pittsburg. He was preceded in death
by his parents; two brothers, Henry Quick and Lindsay Quick; two
sisters, Julie Floyd and Pearl Root; and a great-granddaughter,
Miranda Baker. Survivors include his wife, Toni, of the home; a
daughter, Patsy E. Sanderson, Lebanon; a brother, Homer Quick,
Weaubleau; four sisters, Mabel Bastion of Pittsburg, Mary Cline, Opal
Welch and Ruby Lightle, all of Weaubleau; three granddaughters, Beth
Huskey and Macy Harmon, both of Hermitage, and Dustina Fitzpatrick,
Moberly; and 10 great-grandchildren. Cremation was under the direction
of Murray Funeral Home, Humansville. Burial will be at a later date in
Antioch Cemetery at Pittsburg.
