NOAKES, Wanda Lee Cooper

Wanda Lee Noakes was born August 7, 1910 to Arch L. and Burleigh Yeoman Cooper at Chalk Level and passed away July 16, 2005, at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City at the age of 94 years 11 months and nine days. Wanda was married on February 25, 1933 to Arthur Theodore Ted Noakes and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage before his death in July 2000. Two daughters were born to this union, Roberta Louise and Beulah Lee. Wanda lived all her life in Missouri except for a year in California. She has resided at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City since March 1998. She accepted Christ as her savior as a young girl, was baptized a member of the Kidd's Chapel United Methodist Church and was active as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Neva and Ula Opal; three brohters, Orville Walter, Noel Steven and Chester Lee Roy; sister-in-law, Thelma Cooper; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Chiles. Wanda is survived by daughters, Roberta Grove and husband James, Appleton City, Beulah Gordon and husband Arthur, Lowry City; one grandson, Ted Arthur Gordan and his wife Idalisa, of Irving, Texas and one granddaughter, Wanda June Gordon and her fiancee Richard Evans of Ames, Iowa; sister, Arlene Chiles of Springfield; sister-in-law, Nellie Coooper of Anaheim, Calif.; nephews and neices and other family and friends. Services were held Monday, July 18, at 10 a.m. at Concord Cemetery with Jim Knight officiating. Casketbearers were Gary Noakes, Dennis Noakes, Jim Noakes, Bob Gordon, Jay Knight and Roger Gurley. Interment was in the Concord Cemetery and arrangements were made by Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola.

NOE, Fred Lafayette

Fred L. Noe, 80, Benson, Arizona, died July 16, 1994, at Benson Hospital in Benson, Arizona. Mr. Noe was a retired farmer and an Army veteran of World War II. On February 12, 1938, he was united in marriage to Mary Noe in Kansas City, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Mary of the home; one sister, Edna Arren of Shawnee, Kansas; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, at 1 p.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in the Iconium Cemetery under direction of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in Osceola.

NOLD, Frank Joseph

Frank Joseph Nold, 95, Appleton City, died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Blue River Care Center, Kansas City. He is survived by two daughters, Dolores Wyatt, Belton, and Kathleen Mendenhall, Kansas City; one sister, Ludvina Schmitz, Pana, Illinois; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral mass was 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montrose, with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Montrose, under the direction of Hill & Son Funeral Home, Appleton City.

NORRIS, Hilah
Lowry City, Missouri, 19 March 1942
Hilah Norris, daughter of John and Martha Norris was born July 13, 1855  near Orange, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Mr. Abe Lutes on Christmas day, 1889. She was united with the Christian church in 1899 and has
remained a true and faithful worker during her 42 years of membership, always keeping in mind the duties she owed to God, her family and friends. For this the Lord bestowed upon her and her kind and loving husband the
honor and pleasure of celebrating their Golden wedding anniversary Dec. 25, 1939. She lived in this community 63 years. She was called to her Heavenly home March 2, after a lingering illness. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Abe; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Ann Allen and Mrs. Lena Elizabeth Price; brothers and sisters, Elizabeth, Martha and Thomas. Barbara Ann, Olive, Urie, Samuel and Johnnie preceded her in death. Hilah Beverly Allen is the only grandchild.Funeral services are held on March 4, 1942 at 2 p.m. in Riverview school house with interment in the Norris family cemetery with Bro. Blalock of the Christian church of Eldorado Springs conducting the funeral with E.H. Primm as funeral director of Humansville in charge. The large funeral procession and beautiful flowers testified to the love and esteem of her by her many friends.

Hubert H. Norris, 71, Lowry City, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 1, at 10 a.m. at Sheldon-Goodrich chapel in Osceola with burial in Kidds Chapel Cemetery near Lowry City.

Orpha (Parscale) Norris, 89, of Merriam, Kansas, formerly of Clinton, died Saturday August 18, 2007 at Trinity Nursing Home, Merriam, Kansas. She was born October 11, 1917 in Deepwater, Missouri to Jesse Matthew Parscale and Iva Ray "Ivy" Mayfield Parscale. Orpha was a member of Northeast Baptist Church in Clinton. The majority of her time was spent with her husband and family. She was a fantastic cook who could always put together a meal at a moment's notice. She wrote and published poetry, especially in the Clinton Daily democrat. Orpha married Paul Gerster Norris on April 17, 1937 in Clinton. He preceded her in death on January 13, 1982. Also preceding her in death were her parents, her step-mother, Bessie Pearl Stark Parscale, two brothers; James Hubert Parscale and Orla Jay Parscale, a sister; Dorothy Reed, and a grandson; Jason Derek Norris. Surviving are two sons; Paul Frederick Norris of Shawnee, Kansas, and David Ray Norris of Murietta, California, and a daughter; Linda Marie Binckley and her husband John of Lenexa, Kansas, four grandchildren; Paul Stephen Norris, Patrick David Norris, David Albert Binkley, and Robert Case Binckley, four great grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Aubrey Burk officiating. Burial will be in King's Prairie Cemetery, St. Clair County, Missouri. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.

NORRIS, Rosa

The angel of death summoned from our midst another one whom we had learned to love, this time the one called being Miss Rosa Norris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Norris, aged 18 years, 2 months and 27 days. Some two years ago Miss Rosa was stricken with that much dreaded disease, consumption and has gradually declined in health until the reaper came. She bore her affliction with great patience and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Death came to her relief last Saturday morning at 6 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted at the church by John D. Simms, and the remains were interred in the King's Prairie cemetery.

NORTH, Grace Sherman

Grace Sherman North was born October 17, 1900 in Osceola, MO. She passed away October 12, 1991 at the Betty Ann's Nursing Home in Grove, Ok. Grace was the daughter of William Riley and Josephine Stewart Sherman. She was one of eight children. Grace married Henry Clayton North and to this union three children were born. Henry preceded her in death in 1974. She is also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Claude, Roy, her twin John and Luther Sherman, and three sisters, May Woolery, Estelle Poston and Inez Cox. Grace retired from the Westport Clinic in Kansas City. She had worked for the group of doctors for 17 years. Grace is survived by two sons, Norman North of Bernice, Ok., and Charles North of Kansas City; one daughter, Ruby Olene Hall, Kansas City, Ks.; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Graveside services were held at Landaker Cemetery near Lowry City, with the Rev. Larry Sherman officiating. Arrangements under direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

NORVAL, Joseph Dean

Joe Dean Janes Norval - Joseph (Joe) Dean Norval, 46, El Dorado Springs, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at his home. He was born December 19, 1961, in Rockford, IL. Joe graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1980. On Feb. 14, 1982, he was united in marriage to Llanona Rae Ryan. They were later divorced. Joe was a good man at heart who was loved and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his grandparents - Glendine Janes, John and Dorothy Norval, and Ed and Stella Elliott; and his father, Joseph Janes. He is survived by his daughters – Debbie and husband, Nick Bullard, Jessica and husband, Martin McGee, and Brandi and husband, Jeremiah Rifenburg; sons, Patrick Williams and Michael Dotson; his parents, John and Mary Norval – El Dorado Springs; brother, John (Julian) Norval III - Butler; sister, Letta Collin––
Kansas City; three half-brothers – Rusty Janes, Ryan Janes and Butch Janes; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Lloyd Janes; four grandchildren–– Brooke and Mary Abigail Bullard, Anre' McGee and Layla Rifenburg; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and family who loved and will miss him very much. Services were Tuesday, Feb. 12, at the Sheldon Chapel in El Dorado Springs, with Minister Rusty Janes. Special music was, “Amazing Grace,” “Wings of Dreams” and “Feed Jake.” Casketbearers were – Gary Norval, Marty McGee, Harold Johnson, Nick Bullard, Jeremiah Rifenburg and Elmer Sharer. Interment was in the Peasant Springs (Oyer) Cemetery under the direction of the Sheldon Funeral Home – El Dorado Springs.
