KNELLER, Rokel Dean

R. Dean Kneller, 63, Lowry City, formerly of Kansas City, Ks., was
pronounced dead Monday, Nov. 30, 1992 at a hospital in Paola, Ks.
Services will be Thursday at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, Osceola; burial
in the Lowry City Cemetery.
Mr. Kneller was born in Corning, Iowa, and lived in Kansas City, Ks.
for 31 years before he moved to Lowry City in 1987. He was a rigger
for the Corn Products Co. before he retired. He was a member
of Grace United Methodist Church, Osceola. He was an Army veteran of
the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife Lois Kneller of the home; three sons,
William Kneller, Ottawa, Ks., Dean Kneller, Kansas City, and John
Kneller, Lowry City; a brother Max Kneller, Kansas City, Ks.; three
sisters, Leneve Gold, Enumclaw, Wa., Berdie Meeks, Omaha, Ne., and
Ruth Van Eaton, Fontanelle, Iowa; four grandchildren and a
great-grandson.

KNIGHT, Isaac Alfred

I.A. Knight, 71, of Weaubleau, was killed Friday afternoon at 5:00
o’clock when he was struck by an auto while walking across a street in
Fayetteville, Ark. Mr. Knight, an uncle of W.H. Knight and Mrs. C.H.
Morrow of Osceola, operated the Knight Hardware store in Weaubleau for
years and had an interest in the Knight Hardware and Knight Sales Co.,
at the time of his death, although he had not been active in their
operation for several years.
Funeral services were held at Humansville Tuesday afternoon at 2:00
o’clock with burial at the Robinson cemetery near Weaubleau.
KNIGHT, Iven Robert

Iven R. Knight – A tired and gallant heart ceased beating and a great
soul returned to its maker at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, December 21st, 1944.
Iven Robert Knight was born in Cass County, Missouri and grew to
manhood in Weaubleau, Mo. He came to Osceola and established himself
in business in 1902. He was married to Myrtle Andrews in 1905 and to
this union were born seven children.
Mr. Knight has been a deacon of the Baptist church in Osceola for
forty years and was one of those people who applied the Christian
principles to his daily living. His devotion to his family has been
the foundation of his life, but the love of mankind so filled his
heart that it overflowed to a limitless circle of friends. The sincere
kindliness of his nature drew young and old. To his children and
grandchildren he leaves a heritage of beautiful memories which will
enrich their lives thru all the coming years. A life so beautifully
and lovingly lived does not cease but goes on to a greater glory.
He leaves his wife and seven children. --

KNIGHT, Johnnie R.
Johnnie R. "J.J." Knight, Jr. died suddenly on July 20, 2004, in
Kansas City. J.J. was born July 3, 1973. at USC Medical center in Los
Angeles, Calif. to Ethel Marie Stewart Knight Riley and Johnnie R.
Knight. J.J. attended schools in Texas and Missouri. He graduated from
Clinton High School, Clinton in 1992 and attended CMSU Warrensburg. He
lettered in band and won many awards for his trumpet solos. His
passion was scouting and he was awarded his Eagle in 1991 from Troop
430. He worked as an instructor and leader for several years at the H.
Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Osceola. He, also, served in the army
and he received an honorable discharge.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Ethel Marie Stewart Riley and
his father, Johnnie R. Knight. He leaves behind many family members
and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel,
Osceola, with the Tribe of Mic-O'Say officiating.
Casket bearers were Edward Stewart, Glen Stewart, Samuel Riley, Heath
Hawkins, Nehemiah Hawkins and Nicholas Hawkins.
Honorary casket bearers were Eric Clay, Karl Riley and Bill Frizzell.
Interment was in Kings Prairie cemetery.

KNIGHT, Lloyd Thomas

Lloyd Thomas Knight was born on Oct. 26, 1934, to Lloyd and Elizabeth
Thomas Knight in Van Zands, Wash. Tommy moved to Missouri with his
father in 1948. He departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, on
the family farm near Osceola.
On July 7, 1951, Tommy was united in marriage to Ruth Mrie Hochstedler
and to this union two sons were born. Rick who was born in their first
anniversary, but he always likes to tell everyone he was born on their
wedding day. Fred followed a short four years later.
Tommy and Marie sponsored many in AA and Alanon. In fact, Tommy
celebrated his 23rd year of sobriety on the day he departed this
world. He was an active member of the Gerster Baptist Church.
Tommy had many occupations over the years. He was a gas station owner,
hauled riprap during the building of Truman Reservoir, hauled cattle
for Burleigh Wheeler, and was an over-the-road trucker for Warren
Nall. He retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation after
25 years in 1997.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Josie
Chandler Knight Boswell.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marie, of the home; son Rick
and his wife, Linda, El Dorado Springs and one son, Fred and his wife,
Karen, Osceola; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Mike Coleman, Linn
Creek, Patricia and Michael Hoppers, Bolivar, Cody Knight,
Springfield, Christopher Knight, St. Louis, Rickayla and Raelynn
Knight, El Dorado Springs; three great granddaughters, Kelina and
Kaity Lynn Coleman and Boby Lauren Hoppers; one sister, Frances
Wilkings, Hallock, Minn.; one brother, Bruce Knight; numerous nieces,
nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Tommy will truly be
missed by everyone who knew him.
Services for Tommy were Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel, Osceola, with Reverend Francis Leslie officiating.
Musical selections were "The Old Rugged Cross" with Bob Self, soloist
and "Peace In The Valley" with Donna Carney, soloist and Gail Ingle,
accompanist.
Casketbearers were Herb Garrison, Robert Irvin, Forrest Wombles, Butch
Masten, Larry Shelby, Robert Crowe and John Masten. Honorary
casketbearers were Gar Garman, Joe Shelby and Larry Sherman.
Final disposition was cremation under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

Mary Ann Knight, daughter of Leonard E. Bartz, Sr. and Anna Mae
(Harvey) Bartz, was born January 22, 1942, at Clinton.
She departed this life on December 6, 2004, at herhome in Appleton
City at the age of 62 years of age.
Mary Ann spent her childhood growing up in the GreenValley community,
east of Rockville, attending the Elm
Grove and Rockville schools. She graduated from Appleton City High
School with the Class of 1959. She
received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Central
Missouri State College in 1962 and was
employed as a physical education and biology instructor for the
1962-63 school year by the Lamoni, Iowa, public schools.
In the fall of 1963, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Kenneth L.
Knight. They established their home in the Ohio Community east of
Appleton City. They worked side-by-side, operating a dairy, beef and
grain farm for 41 years. Their marriage was blessed with four
children, Ladonna, Cameron, Brian and Melinda.
Survivors include her husband Kenny, of the home; her children and
their spouses, Ladonna and Matthew Green, Cameron and Angela Knight,
Brian and Penny Knight and Melinda Knight; her grandchildren Rachel
and Clinton Green, Allyson and Garret Knight, Anthony Knight and Scott
Campbell; two brothers and their spouses, Leonard E. Jr. and Grace
Bartz and Phillip and Patricia Bartz; a brother-in-law and
sister-in-law, Jay and Sheila Knight, and her mother-in-law, Ruthella
Knight.
Funeral services were at Hill & Son Funeral Home, Appleton City,
Friday, December 10. Burial was in Westfield Cemetery, rural Appleton
City.

Paul James Knight, son of Ora Willis and Mabel Lucy (Ritter) Knight,
was born August 26, 1925 in Henry County Missouri. He departed this
life February 11, 2006 at his home in Montrose, Missouri at 80 years
of age. Mr. Knight had spent his life in Peculiar and Butler, Missouri
until moving to Montrose, Missouri in 1987. During World War II he
proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with the 10th Mountain
Division Rangers from 1943 until 1945. Paul and Retha F. Hixon were
united in marriage in August 1949 in Clinton, Missouri and to this
union three sons were born. He was a devoted husband and father to his
family. He was employed by the General Motors Corporation for 31
years, working in Kansas City, Kansas. Paul was preceded in death by
his parents, his wife and one brother Ronald Knight. Survivors include
his three sons, James W. Knight of Bartlett, Tennessee, Randy J.
Knight and Michael L. Knight both of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers,
Earl O. Knight of Belton, Missouri, Jack E. Knight of Peculiar,
Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Oliphant of Wichita, Kansas; four
grandchildren, James E. Knight, Christina R. Knight, Justin Knight and
Stephanie Knight; and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Knight.

R. Marie Knight - Ruth Marie Knight was born May 11, 1933 to Leonard
and Rosie Hochstedler in Osceola. She departed this life on Feb. 6,
2008 at her home near Osceola.
On July 7, 1951 Marie was united in marriage to Lloyd Thomas Knight.
To this union two sons were born, Rick and Fred Knight, who kept them
very busy. Marie loved life and people. Tommy and Marie's door was
always open to any family, friends and neighbors. She loved to cook
and anyone who ever visited never left empty bellied or empty handed.
Marie always greeted everyone with a hug and "are you hungry?" Many
people called her "Gramma Marie" and were made to feel like family.
Marie was mostly a stay at home Mom, but also took in laundry and
cooked at Headstart, Boy Scout Camp and Clearview Daycare. She also
liked to putter around on their farm with Tommy and haul wood, fish
and take care of her chickens and dogs.
Marie first accepted Christ as her Savior in 1963 at Osceola Baptist
Church. She was a member of various
churches over the years, but was a faithful member of Gerster Baptist
Church since 1996. Marie was also an
active member of the Osceola Chapter of Al Anon.
Her husband, Tommy and their family meant a lot to Marie. She spent
countless hours spoiling her
grandkids and great grandkids.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, her parents,
sisters Bernita Cone and Bernice Gilbert and brother, Nolan.
She is survived by her son, Rick and wife Linda, ElDorado Springs and
her son, Fred and wife, Karen, of
Osceola. She enjoyed six grandchildren, Stephanie Coleman and husband
Mike, Osceola, Patricia Hoppers
and husband, Michael, Bolivar, Cody Knight and girlfriend, Nicole and
sons, Alex and Tyler, Springfield,Christopher Knight, St. Louis and
Rickayla and Raelynn Knight, ElDorado Springs. She, also, greatly
loved her three great granddaughters, Kelina and Kait Coleman and
Lauren Hoppers and Nicole's boys, Alex and Tyler who she loved as her
own. Also surviving her are her brother, Eugene Hochstedler and wife,
Ina Lee, of Temple, Texas and one sister, Kathy Tillotson and husband,
Ken, of Vista and many nieces, nephews and a ton of friends.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 10, at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel.
Officiated by Francis Leslie and Rev. Gar Garman.
Music selections included "In the Garden" , "Old Rugged Cross",
"Amazing Grace" by Gail Ingle and "How
Great Thou Art" by Rob Self, soloist and Gail Ingle, accompanist.
Casketbearers were Rob self, Luke Mathews, Bob Irvin, Larry Shelby,
Robert Hochstedler, David Cone and Roger Beach.

Henry Koch - Graveside services will be held Thursday at the Pleasant
Mound cemetery at Osceola for Henry Koch, 67, who died July 21 at
Research Medical Center in Kansas City. He lived in Belton and was a
native of Sullivan County, New York. He was a heavy equipment machine
operator and a member of Teamsters Local 101. He also was a farmer.
His wife Dorothy Fay Rinard Leabo Koch, survives him, also
three stepsons and two stepdaughters. The George Bolton chapter at
Belton is in charge of arrangements.

Sarah C. Kottwitz, 76, Osceola, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at
Sac-Osage Hospital, Osceola. Funeral services will be Friday, March
22, at Grace United Methodist Church, Osceola. Burial will be in
Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
She married Frank Kottwitz December 9, 1944, in Panama City, Florida.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband; children, Anita Slocum and husband,
Wilbur, Clinton, Norman Kottwitz, Osceola, Gladys Smith, Osceola,
Glenn Kottwitz and wife, Debbie, Osceola, Judy Hawkins and husband,
Bob, Carthage, Jim Kottwitz and wife, Connie, Osceola, Jean Ann
Gardner and husband, Lynn, Osceola, Joyce Brown and husband, Dennis,
Osceola; 28 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one

KRASSER, Dennis Dale

Dennis Dale Krasser was born September 28, 1943 in Sioux City, Iowa to
Elmer and Alta Buckingham Krasser. He died September 26, 1998, from
injuries received in an accident at his home in Osceola.
Dennis was raised in Beaver Crossing, Nebraska, and attended school
there. He went to Milford Trade School where he became a diesel
mechanic. Dennis attended boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina,
in June 1964 and graduated in October 1964. He then reported to Camp
LaJune for Diesel School for five months of training, graduating in
March 1965. From there he went to the Reserve Unit in Lincoln,
Nebraska, and was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1970.
Dennis worked for First American Distributing in Omaha, Nebraska, and
then sold for an oil products company. Dennis enjoyed being on the
lake and especially enjoyed driving the ski boat and watching the
skiers. He enjoyed long walks, talking with his children and playing
with the dogs.
Dennis found great happiness in calling California to talk with his
daughter and getting the week's news about his granddaughter, Clare
Kincaid of Camp Pendleton, California. He was a genuine caring man who
put others before himself. He would read to the elderly in his spare
time, went to church regularly and designed his dream home (which he
had not built yet). The main feature he wanted it to have was a large
dining room with a huge table so all of his family could gather for
family dinners.
Dennis enjoyed working with his hands and loved to garden. His
favorite was tomatoes. He also enjoyed going to Branson to the shows
and concerts and to fairs and dances. He was a Boy Scout leader and a
member of the Sertoma Club.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother Roland Steele,
and his biological parents, Sant and Ona Steele.
He is survived by his wife Paula, of the home; one son Troy Wayne
Krasser, Clinton; one daughter Shaun Elizabeth Kinkaid, Camp
Pendleton, California; his mother Mrs. Alta Krasser of Beaver
Crossing, Nebraska; five brothers, Donald Steele of Roswell, New
Mexico, Robert Steele of Grand Junction, Colorado, Richard Steele,
Denver, Colorado, Larry Bluhm, Seward, Nebraska, Rodney Kastens,
Seattle, Washington; six sisters, Virginia Sanford, Union City,
California, Phoebe Barto, McCook Lake, South Dakota, Betty Whitsell,

Lawrence Lee Kreissler, son of Henry and Lydia (Scholz) Kreissler, was
born August 26, 1921 in rural Appleton City, Missouri. He departed
this life at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri February 4,
2006 at 84 years of age. Lawrence was baptized September 23, 1921 at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City. He joined the church May 5,
1935 with his confirmation verse being 1 Corinthians 6:20 – “You were
bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.” Mr. Kreissler
remained a faithful member of his church, attending every Sunday,
until his death. On May 22, 1942 Lawrence and Margaret Linn were
united in marriage and to this union four children were born. During
World War II he served in the Army Air Corp and also in the OSS for a
short time. Lawrence was a highly respected farmer and businessman. He
loved to visit with people and tell stories. Lawrence was preceded in
death by his parents and one brother, Earl. Survivors include his wife
Margaret of the home; one son, Kenny Kreissler and wife Sue of Olathe,
Kansas; three daughters, Judy Landall of Appleton City, Missouri,
Nancy and husband Eugene Nichols of St. Charles, Missouri, Kristine
and husband Ronnie Parks of Appleton City, Missouri; ten
grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Lawrence will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
