Freda Juanita Folsom, 84, Weaubleau, passed away Oct. 19, 2007, in
Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City. She was born Sept. 28, 1923, at Kansas
City, Kan., the daughter of Frederick and Juanita (Hovey) Chubb. She
had worked at Ft. Scott Hospital as laundry supervisor and was a
homemaker and moved to the Weaubleau area in 1984 from Kansas City,
Kan.
Survivors include four sons, Almon Folsom, Osceola, George Folsom, Weaubleau, Jimmy Folsom, Neosho and Henry Folsom, Buffalo; four
daughters, Yvonne (Bonnie) Higgins, Sandra Hernandez and Nancy Cox,
all of Weaubleau, and Juanita Myers of Buffalo; two sisters, Mary
Mitchell, Cameron and Velda Davis, Albuquerque, N.M.; 17
grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and three great-great
grandchildren.
Services were Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Hathaway-Peterman Funeral home,
Wheatland, with Reverend Ed Stovall officiating.
Graveside services were held in the Ft. Scott National Cemetery, Ft.
Scott, Kan., under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home,
Wheatland.

Pamela A. Folsom, age 46, of Osceola, passed away July 9, 2006, at her
home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1959, at Garnett, Kan., to Edwin and Betty Morris
Wisbey. She had lived in the Osceola area for about 10 years and had
worked as a receptionist at Hickory County Title Company.
She was preceded in death by a son, Shane.
She is survived by her husband, Almon Folsom; her father and
step-mother, Edwin and Karen Wisby, Osceola; her mother, Betty
Millard, Centerville, Kan.; her step-father, Jim Millard, Pleasanton,
Kan.; two sons, Nicholas Burney, of the U.S. Army stationed in Korea
and Chad Burney, Kansas City; one daughter and son-in-law, Gayla and
Buzz Williams, Nevada; four brothers, Jimmy Wisbey, Marana, Ariz.,
Albert Millard, Pleasanton, Kan., Raymond Wisbey, Texas and James
Millard, Dallas, Texas; eight sisters, Bonnie Powers, Joplin, Debra
Wilson, LaCygne, Kan., Brenda Butts, Kansas City, Mae Wilson, Linda
Grimes, Melissa Havard and Jackie Thompson, all from Texas and Shawna
Livingston, California and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15 at
Hathaway-Peterman Chapel with burial following in Fairview-Butcher
cemetery under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home,
Wheatland.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday evening at the Funeral
Home.
FOOTE, Sarah G.

Mrs. S.G. Foote died at her home in Johnson City Feb. 21, 1908,
aged 72, was buried Feb. 22 at 1 p.m. at Harmony graveyard. Thus again
it becomes our painful duty to chronologize the departure of one of
our number to the land from whence none return. Mrs. S.G. Foote was
promoted from earth's turmoils to join her husband who passed on
before only a few days previous, seemingly with the expression that
the devoted companion of his old age would soon follow, he left the
pearly gates ajar. Many we are who will long for the touch of those
vanished hands, the sound of those voices now still.
Funeral service was conducted by Rev. Newlen of Nevada , who paid a
loving tribute to the departed ones who had taken such an interest in
his life's work.
A sister from Lincoln, Neb., reached the bedside of Mrs. Foote in time
to be recognized and receive the welcome (Sister Libbie I am so glad
you have come to see me.)
Sixteen years ago a society was organized at Johnson City which was
the ladies aid society of then is to this day the avowed object of the
order was to erect a temple for God's people to worship in.
At the organization of this society, Mrs. Foote was elected president
and has been herself successor by choice of its members all these
years; the only surviving member of sixteen years ago is Mrs. Florince
Walker who is one of the true and tried and has buckled on the shield
of righteous and with the aid of the present membership and with an
eye single to the glory of God the good work will continue to go on
unto the perfect day.
Mrs. Foote was a woman of thorough order in life. She loved her
Master's work with all its links of love; The Woman's Christian
Temperance Union was so dear to her that a constant prayer passed from
her very soul to the throne of God, claiming the promise of full
deliverance for those in bondage and may it be so. In God we trust.
FOOTE, Nellie Marguerite Vannice

Nellie Marguerite Foote, daughter of Edwin B. and Sarah Eleanor
(George) Vannice, was born October 28, 1895, at Vista. She died
Monday, December 21, 1998, at the Balanced Care Centerin Hermitage.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Freeman and her husband Tony,
Overland Park, Kansas; her two sons, Bill and his wife Clara, and C.
L. and his wife Ila, all of Osceola; her eight grandchildren, Eddie
Kay Van Rossenbaum, Chris Hyatt, Cindy Schlender, Randy Freeman, Steve
Foote, Tim Foote, Bill Foote and
James Richard Foot; her 18 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and
friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 23, at the
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola. Burial will be in the Osceola
Cemetery.
FOOTE-DESIMONE, Mary L. Foote

Mary "Mimi" L. Foote-Desimone was born on Oct. 16, 1914 in Vista to
Harry Clay and Eliza Kelley Foote. She passed away Feb. 21, 2006, at
the Lee's Summit Hospital in Lee's Summit. Mary taught three years in
public schools. She moved to the Kansas City area and worked in Civil
Service positions for most of her adult life until her retirement.
Mary spent her retirement years in Belton, which she called home.
She was a charter member of the Kansas City Mayflower Society,
Tri-County Art Society and a member of the First Baptist Church of
Kansas City. She became a member of the Vista Baptist Church at age
12.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Harry C. and Eliza Kelley
Foote, her sisters, Edna Lysinger and Deane Lysinger, her brother,
William C. Foote and two great nephews, Craig Miller and Brian
Lysinger.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Harry Fulwider and his
wife, Ruth and their children, Clay, Terri and Beth; Shirley Miller
and her husband, Mike; Carolyn Rhoads and her sons, Marty and Jeff;
Kay Burke and her husband, Bob and their children, Angela, Launa and
Christina; John Lysinger and his wife, Patricia and their children,
James and Brett; Fred Lysinger and his wife, Christy and their son,
Jerry; Claudeane Flanary and her husband, Rick and their son, Lee;
Cindy Underwood and her children, Bob, Amy and Derek; Mike Foote and
his wife, Debbie and their children, Zack, Amy and John; Kelley Foote
and her children, Michael and Byron, plus 20 great-great nieces and
nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were Friday, Feb. 24, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel,
officiated by Rev. Scott Hill with interment in Osceola Cemetery under
the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
Music was "Amazing Grace" and "Precious Moments".
Casketbearers were Bob Underwood, Jeff Rhoads, Clay Fulwider, Marty
Rhoads, Kelley Foote and Mike Foote.
Honorary casketbearers were Harry Fulwider, Shirley Miller, Carolyn
Rhoads, Kay Burke, John Lysinger, Fred Lysinger, Claudeane Flanary,

Rodney Allan Forbes, 39, Mexico, Mo., died Wednesday, April 20, 2005,
as the result of an airplane accident in Festus. He was born July 8,
1965, in Ft. Morgan, Colo., the son of Leonard L. and Dorothy A. Harr
Forbes. On July 20, 1985, he married Sheryl Ann Jamison at Mt. Zion
Bible School in Ava. She survives at the home. Rodney worked for SBC. He
served in the U.S. Navy and worked at the White House during the
Reagan administration. He was a member of the Church of God Holiness
where he served on the board and was the treasurer. In addition to his wife, he
is survived by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Forbes, Hallsville;
two children, Phillip Forbes, Mexico, and Tiffani Forbes of the home;
two brothers, Stanley Forbes, Centralia and Gaylan Forbes, Hallsville;
two sisters, Marilyn Hockmeyer, St. Charles and Connie Bunn,
Centralia; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jay and Leona
Jamison, Osceola. Funeral services were
Sunday, April 24, at Arnold Funeral Home, Mexico, with Reverend
Delbert Dillon and the Reverend Gilbert Hall officiating. Burial was
in the Elmwood Cemetery. The family requests
memorial contributions to be made to the church building fund.

MRS. J.A. FORD PASSES
AFTER LONG ILLNESS -
Elosia Mayden Stephenson was born in Clay County, MO, January 1, 1859.
She came to Bates County, Missouri with her parents in 1872. They
located in Hudson township where she lived 61 years. She was converted
in 1883 and united with the M.E. church of which she was a consistent
member the remainder of her life. Although a great sufferer she died
in the triumph of a living faith, Nov. 28, 1933. She was married to
John A. Ford June 12, 1889. Six children were born to this union, five
of whom survive, namely: Amos Ford, Appleton City, Missouri; Henry
Ford, Parsons, Kansas; Emmitt Ford of the home; Guy Ford, Appleton
City, MO; Bernice Drake of St. Louis, MO; one daughter, Rhoda, having
preceded her in death. She is also survived by two step-children, Mrs.
Bessie Ammons of Rockville, MO and Albert Ford of Salina, Kansas, who
shared her love and affection as if they were her own. She was one of
a family of nine children, all but three having preceded her. The
surviving members of her family are: Eugene Stephenson, Trenton, MO;
and Frank and Ethel Stephenson, of Appleton City. Funeral services
conducted by Rev. Wm. Sutton were held on Wed., Nov. 29 at 11 o'clock,
and interment made in Round Prairie Cemetery.
FORD, Luke Christian Andrew

Tech Sgt. Luke Christian Andrew Ford, 31, Whitman Air Force Base,
passed away Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Research Medical Center,
Kansas City.
He was born Sept. 3, 1973, in Fullerton, Calif., to the son of the
late Mark W. Ford and Madeline L. Felt Ford. On May 28, 1994, he
married Lori Burnett in Lowry City.
Tech Sgt. Ford was an active member of the U.S. Air Force for the past
13 years and was stationed at Whiteman AFB. He was an Airman
Leadership School Instructor at the base. He was a member of the Tier
2 Organization at Whiteman AFB and the Warrensburg Community Band. He
was a member of the Northside Christian Church of Warrensburg.
Survivors include his wife, Lori, two sons, Nathan and Christian Ford,
all of the home; his mother, Madeline Ford, Cottage Grove, Ore.; and
three brothers, Mark W. Ford, Jr., Pampa, Texas; Albert P. Ford, Costa
Mesa, Calif.; and Matthew L. Ford, Cottage Grove, Ore.
His father preceded him in death on July 11, 2001.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Northside
Christian Church, Warrensburg. Interment will be in the Missouri
Veteran’s Cemetery, Higginsville, with full military honors provided
by the Whiteman AFB Color Guard.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children’s Education Fund
and may be left in care of Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home,

FOREMAN, Theodore Paul Sr.

Theodore
Paul Foreman, Sr. was born September 12, 1919, in Kansas City, to Paul
Melville and Virginia "Turnham"
Foreman, and died July 9, 2003, at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola.
He was raised in the Kansas City
area and then picked apples in New York. He worked with his father on
the Rock Island Railroad. He joined
the Navy in 1940 and had the rank of First class Signalman when he was
honorably discharged October 30,
1944. In April 1943, he married Frances Starbird and to this union
five children were born. He worked as a
painter for the G.M. Leads Plant in Kansas City. In 1951, he relocated
to Lowry City and attended GI
School. He owned the Highway Cafe and Ted's 66 Service Station in
Lowry City. In 1958 he went to work for Bendix, later known as Allied
Signal (now known as Honeywell) where he retired in March 1983.
On December 7, 1958, he married Minnie Louise Lasley and to this union
five children were born.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Brown; one
daughter, Patricia Lee Foreman; one son, Theodore Paul "Teddy"
Foreman, Jr.; one grandson, Edgar David "Eddie" Geisinger II; second
wife, Minnie Louise Foreman and one sister, Thelma Elizabeth Foreman.
He is survived by his eight children, Virginia E. "Ginny" and Seth
Wade of Raytown, Judith A. "Judy" McCune, Raytown, Lurae Foreman of
Kansas City, Randy Dean and Jeanie Foreman of Pleasant Hill, Robert
William "Bob" Foreman of Stockton, Kathy L. and Richard Wilkerson of
Clinton, Norma Jean Moran of Littleton, Colorado, Irvin Melville "Mel"
and Brenda Foreman of Lowry City; two sisters, Martha Virginia
"Ginger" Fox of Independence and Graycemae Patricia Crawford of
Independence, 22 grandchildren and 19
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 12, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Funeral Home with burial in the Lowry City Cemetery.
FORREST, Clyde Edward

Clyde E. Forrest - Clyde Edward Forrest was born June 11, 1907 in West
Plains, Missouri to Adolphus and Hattie Southers Forrest. He passed
away May 26, 1987 at Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Missouri at 79
years, 11 months and 15 days of age.
At the age of four he moved with his family to Oklahoma in a covered
wagon. They spent several years neighboring with the Indians in Indian
Territory.
Clyde moved to the Roscoe, Missouri area where he operated a filling
station and carried the mail.
He later moved to Osceola where he was active in real estate and
development of the properties north of Osceola that housed the
drive-in and Barbeque.
Some thirty-five years ago Clyde moved to Clinton where he operated a
hotel, a nursing home, a real estate office and sold furniture. In
later years, he developed a unique business in Clinton called the
“Unusual Store”.
On October 22, 1980, he was united in marriage to Ruth Estes. They
made their home in Clinton. Clyde’s failing health caused him to enter
the Truman Lake Manor in late March.
Clyde was a member of the Osceola Community Church.
He donated many antiques to the Roscoe and Clinton museums and was
well known in this entire area.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth of the home, a step-daughter, Mrs.
Patty Landes of Olympia, Washington; two step-grandchildren, Karla
Cuzdey and Terry Landes; five step-great grandchildren; several
cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Friday, May 29, 1987 at 10 a.m. at
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Chapel, Osceola, with Rev. Jack Kiefer
officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Judy Hadsall, soloist,
accompanied by Mrs. Beryl Kiefer.
Casket bearers were James Kelley, Bernard Cone, Charles Cone, George
Wackerman, Don Cone and A.C. Woods.
FORREST, Ruth R. Cone Estes

Ruth R. Forrest, 91, longtime resident of Clinton and Osceola, and
recently of Olympia, Washington, died March 18, 2001. Ruth was born on
July 26, 1909, to Alvin and Myrtle Cone, in Chalk Level. In her
younger years, Ruth worked as a garment worker and restaurant worker,
as well as being a homemaker and retired from Unitog in Clinton. Ruth
was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Elias Estes, who she
married on December 10, 1927. They were divorced. Ruth was married to
Clyde Forrest on October 22, 1980, who also preceded her in death.
Ruth was also preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Roy and
Lee Cone, and one sister, Laura (Cone) Nevius, and her parents. Ruth
is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lou (Estes) Landes and
son-in-law, Benny J. Landes, of Olympia, Washington; one sister,
Esther Fern (Cone) Kelly, Osceola; two grandchildren, Terry Gene
Landes and Karla Ruth (Landes) Cuzdey, both of Olympia, Washington;
eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, and many
nieces, nephews and friends. Ruth was raised in the Chalk Level area
and lived most of her days in Osceola and Clinton before moving to
Olympia six years ago. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and
will be greatly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Funeral
services were Saturday, March 24, at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Funeral Home in Osceola. Internment was in Kidd's Chapel.
FORTNEY, Georgie Carl

Georgie Carl Fortney, 76, was born on August 3, 1911, in Filley, Mo.,
the son of Henry Scott and Bessie Ellen Fortney. He passed away at the
Nevada City Hospital on Monday morning, May 9, 1988.
Carl grew up in Cedar County. In the 1930’s he lived in Iowa and was
employed by the Strahn School System. He was not inducted into the
service, because of a sawmill accident in his youth. This handicap
made it necessary for him to invent rather ingenious devices to
accomplish his work. In 1942, he went to work at the Sun Flower
Ordinance Plant at Lawrence, Kans. Carl was later transferred to the
Atomic Borno Plant at Oak Ridge, Tenn. He worked there until after the
war.
In Knoxville, Tenn., on June 26, 1945, he was united in marriage to
Lois Elaine Wharton. They moved to Cedar County to their farm north of
Filley and lived there for more than 40 years.
He raised livestock. Carl loved the land and loved watching things
grow. He was an agent for the Cedar County Farmers Mutual Insurance
Company for 23 years. He was the El Dorado Springs City building
inspector for several years. Carl had his own electrical and plumbing
business in and around Cedar County. Many young men have expressed
their appreciation for the skills they learned while working for Carl.
After heart surgery, Carl and Lois moved to El Dorado Springs. He
enjoyed walking and would stop along the way and visit friends. Carl
had a positive attitude and was always cheerful. He was a hard worker
and was always busy at something. Even until the time of his death, he
tried to accomplish something each day.
Carl was a member of the Filley Christian Church. He enjoyed working
for the church and performed many maintenance services. At the age of
67, as a gift of love, he did the electrical work for the Park Street
Christian Church. He was a member of the Clintonville Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the home; three children – Joyce
Howorth of Winter Springs, Fla., Carl Kent Fortney and his wife Doris,
of Nevada, and Jan Fortney of Kansas City; two grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; six brothers and sisters
– Ray Fortney, Murriel Headlee, Helen Bishop and Ferne Choate all of
El Dorado Springs, Erma Garrett of Donna, Texas and Betty Kelly of
Wichita, Kansas.
Services were held on Wednesday afternoon, May 11, at 2 p.m. at the
Hackleman Chapel with Brother Raymond Yarnell officiating. Interment
was in the El Dorado Springs City Cemetery under the direction of the
Hackleman and Sons Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Nolan Wackerly,
Kennie Whitesell, Ellis Barritt, John Korth, Ronald Purtle and Joe
Coulter.
FOSTER, Amanda Kincade
Mrs. Amanda Foster - Mrs. Amanda Foster died Thursday morning, June
18, 1908, at her home near Valhalla, Missouri. With her death closed a
most remarkable career, she having lived in St. Clair County for
seventy years.
She was born in Miami County, Ohio, January 18, 1829 and came to
Tally's Bend in St. Clair County in 1839, when ten years old. She was
the oldest of a family of eight children - three boys and five girls
only one of which survives her, Mrs. Hannah Park, now living near
Chloe, Missouri. She was married to George Tally in 1844. To this
union was born seven children: Jane E., Thomas T., John F., William
L., George A., Sallie C. and Nancy H., five are now living. Mr. Tally
died in 1862, in the army at Peach Orchard Gap, Arkansas.
In 1862 she married James Foster, a widower with eight children. To
this union was born three
children: Mary E., Gilford P. and Hiram G., two are now living. In
addition to these, she partly raised ten orphan children, one of these
being Rev. J.F. McClain, now living in Waurika, Oklahoma.
Thus she ministered as a mother to twenty-eight children. She had
sixty-seven grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren.
For the last forty years, "Aunt Manda Foster", s she ewas familiarly
called, heard the first cries and ministered to the first wants of
nine-tenths of the children in her neighborhood. In any and all
sickness she was a ministering angel to the afflicted. It truly can be
said of her, "She Hath Done What She Could". Truly, she added to the
sum of human happiness, and if everyone for whom she did some loving
service brings but a single blossom to her grave, she would sleep
beneath a wilderness of flowers.
Mrs. Foster united with the Baptist church in 1844 nd lived a devoted,
Christian life.
She was buried at Wright's Creek Cemetery Friday, June 19. Impressive
funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.M. Hawkins in the presence
of a large crowd of relatives and friends.
FOSTER, Everett Hardin

Everett Hardin Foster was born March 12, 1967 in Osceola to Gerald
"Buck" Foster and Clarice J. [Hammond] Foster and he passed away at
his home in Wichita, Kansas Feb. 17, 2009. Everett was named for his
paternal and maternal grandfathers. Everett leaves his wife Yumi
[Akuzawa]; two daughters, Emily June and Nami Olivia. Survivors also
include his mother, Clarice Foster, Osceola, Missouri; sisters Lila
Foster, Osceola, Missouri, Rose [Foster] and husband Dr. Chuck
Massengill, California, Missouri and Melanie Foster, Collins, Missouri
and several cousins. Also surviving from the Akuzawa family in Japan;
Tsutomu, Yoko and Satoshi, Asami and Yu, as well as many dear friends,
colleagues and acquaintances.
His life goal beginning in the eighth grade was to become an aerospace
engineer and through hard work and dedication he realized his dream.
He was a graduate of Osceola Public High School and received the FFA
Chapter Farmer and State Farmer degrees. Everett completed his
bachelors of science degree in 1989 with a major in aerospace
engineering with minors in applied mathematics and computer science
and a master of science in aerospace engieering at the University of
Missouri, Rolla in 1991. His master's research was in laminated
composite materials.
Since 1992, Everett was employed at Cessna Aircraft Company in
Wichita, most recently as structure supervisor working on the Mustang
Program. During his tenure at Cessna, Everett worked on many Cessna
jet developmemt programs including Bravo, Encore, Sovereign and
Mustang. Everett was also an Airworthiness Representative. While at
Cessna he was awarded the Citation of Merit for his professional
contributions and he was proud to be involved with the Mustang
aircraft project. During his career at Cessna he earned a commercial
pilots license, completed a mini MBA at WSU and became a functional
black belt in the Six Sigma program. After pilot certification he flew
back to his hometown and then later piloted his mother on her first
airplane ride.
Everett was a student of Aikido and achieved a black belt. He also
trained and mentored others in the art of Aikido in his free time. He
was an avid reader and a student of Japanese language and culture. He
enjoyed cooking on the grill, traveling, especially to beach locations
for snorkeling and spending time with his family and friends. Everett
will be remembered as a devoted, loving son, husband, father and
brother.

George Foster, Jr., 61, passed on peacefully to be with his Lord on
March 30, 2006, surrounded by his wife, children and friends at his
home. George was born August 27, 1944 in Bates County, Missouri to
George and Eunice Leora (Frey) Foster. He grew up in the Appleton City
area graduating from Appleton City High School. Most of his adult life
was spent in Lee’ Summit except for the past 1½ years when he moved to
Pleasant Hill, Missouri. George and Patricia Tyler were united in
marriage March 29, 1969, raising three sons and a daughter. Mr. Foster
retired from General Mills after 31½ years of employment as a
millwright. He attended Discovery Church in Grain Valley, Missouri,
was a member of the Lee’s Summit Baseball Association, the Lee’s
Summit Baseball Assciation Booster Club and the Grain Miller’s Union.
He enjoyed golfing, bowling and attending his children and
grandchildrens’ sports activities. He also liked playing cards with
friends and relatives. George was preceded in death by his parents and
one sister, Elizabeth Foster. He is survived by his loving wife,
Patty, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; four children, Rodney and Michelle
Henderson of Springfield, Missouri, Lisa and Jim Robinson of Lee’s
Summit, Missouri Phil and Angela Foster of Blue Springs, Missouri,
Mike and Carol Foster of Gardner, Kansas; 12 grandchildren, one
brother, Jake and Georgia Foster of Montrose, Missouri; four sisters,
Margaret and A.C. Dines of Appleton City, Missouri, Joan and Elmer
Pullen of Clinton, Missouri, Stella Jones of Clinton, Missouri, and
Dora and Maynard Cole of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; many nieces,
nephews and dog Brandy. A huge “Thank You” to Crossroads Hospice. They
are truly God’s helpers.

Gerald "Buck" Foster, 79, was born December 7, 1929 in Talley bend to
Everett Guilford and Ruby Elizabeth [Roberts] Foster. He was baptised
at the age of 15 in Galnipper Creek. He passed away Jan. 17, 2009 at
Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton.
Buck was united in marriage to Clarice June Hammond Feb. 22, 1957.
Buck was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include his spouse, Clarice, daughter, Lila Foster,
daughter, Rose and husband Dr. Chuck Massengill, daughter Melanie
Foster and son, Everett and wife Yumi Foster. His pride and joy were
his two granddaughters, Emily June and Nami Olivia Foster. He is also
survived by several nieces, nephews and his beloved niece Barbara and
husband Roger O'Mara.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Everett "Ed"
Foster, Lester Foster and sister, June Foster Smith.
Services were Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel.
Minister was Father Rolf Reed. Music was "Whispering Hope", "Precious
Memories", "How Great Thou Art", "Rock Candy Mountain" and "The Man of
Constant Sorrow" by Bear Creek Bluegrass Gospel Band.
Casketbearers were: Doug Clark, Marty Hash, Les Carroll, Dale Tucker,
Roger O'Mara and Les Smith. Honorary casketbearers were: Jerry

of William David and Ethel Mae (Ruby) Rowland, was born September 3,
1932 in Bay City, Texas. She passed away September 3, 2005 at Country
Club Care Center in Warrensburg, Missouri at 73 years of age. Joyce
spent her early childhood years in Fort Worth, Texas moving later to
Clinton, Missouri where she was a 1951 graduate of Clinton High
School. Joyce was united in marriage to Dean Audrey Foster February
21, 1952 in Appleton City, Missouri and made there home in Cambridge,
England while he served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1954 they moved back
to the U.S. residing in Appleton City until Dean’s death in 1998 at
which time she moved to Knob Noster, Missouri. Mrs. Foster had been
employed as an office worker at various times but had been happy to be
a homemaker, wife and mother. She was a member of the Apple Dumplings
Square Dance Club in Appleton City and a member of the First Christian
Church in Knob Noster. Joyce loved spending time with her
grandchildren. She liked cats and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She had
sewed many of her square dancing outfits. Preceding Joyce in death
were her parents and husband. Survivors include two sons, David Foster

wife Terrie of Knob Noster, Missouri; one sister Billie Young of

in his home. He was born in Roscoe.
He worked for Bendix Allied Signal from 1951 until retiring in 1989.
He was a member of Circle Lodge No. 243 in Roscoe.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Doris Tuck of Warsaw; two nieces,
Mrs. Lynne Beasley, Lenexa, Ks., and Mrs. Teri Troutman of Osawatomie;
and one aunt, Mrs. Mildred Porter of El Dorado Springs.

Oreta Ruby Fowler was born December 19, 1926 to John and Virgie
Thompson Walthall. She passed away Saturday morning, April 4, 1992 at
St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Kansas City.
Oreta was born in Henrietta, Oklahoma. She lived many years in the
Kansas City area before moving to Lowry City in 1982. She had made her
home in Riverside the past year.
Oreta is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Fowler. She is
survived by six sons, James Tustison of Blue Springs, Daryl Tustison
of Liberty, Mark Tustison of Independence, Mike Tustison of Lowry
City, Cecil Fowler of Excelsior Springs, and Robert Fowler of Kansas
City; 21 grandchildren other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 7, 1992 at
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, in Osceola,
with Rev. Steve Elsey officiating. Burial was in Lowry City Cemetery.

Alfred Fraley died at an early hour last Saturday morning, he was
stricken with pneumonia fever January 16, and this disease caused
his death which ended a busy life. All that loving care and medical
attention could do was of no avail and the Lord saw best to call him
home to rest where there will be no more sorrow. He leaves six children
to mourn their loss, all grown. The remains were brought to King's
Prairie for burial, the services conducted by Rev. G.W. McMillen.
He has left us and we cannot see him on earth again, - he cannot come
to us but if we live close to God we can go to him. -
Farewell dear husband and father you are at rest. -
God called you he knew best. -

Two Deaths In Roscoe Family -
The death of A.M. Pasley, 81, well known and a respected senior
resident of St. Clair County, last week, was followed closely by the
death of his son-in-law, Everett W. Francis, 61. Rites for both,
residents of Roscoe community, were held in the Roscoe Christian
church, performed by the Rev. H.E. Carpenter. Burials were in the
Roscoe Cemetery.
Mr. Pasley, known to his many friends as “Bud”, died at the Osceola
hospital August 20, 1958 and the funeral was Friday. Mr. Francis died
on Friday, and his service was held Sunday.
A.M. Pasley -
Allie Marquis Pasley was born November 30, 1876, the son of Benjamin
Franklin and Sarah Pasley of Roscoe.
On April 23, 1899, he was married to Margaret Maudeline Hartline and
five children were born to them. His wife and two daughters, Belle
Summers and Vesta Vogt, and one granddaughter, Donna Smith, preceded
him in death.
In 1949 he was married to Ruby Barkey. Mr. Pasley was always a leader
in civic affairs and was actively interested in the progress of the
Roscoe community. He accepted responsibilities cheerfully and
willingly.
He joined the Pope Christian church, and was baptized there in 1912,
later transferring his membership to the Roscoe Christian Church.
Immediate survivors are his wife, Ruby, of the home; two daughters,
Mrs. Everett (Neva) Francis and Mrs. Roy (Wretha) Smith, of Roscoe, a
son, Marquis Pasley, Kansas City, Kan., six grandchildren and four
great grandchildren.

Jean Francis was born Oct. 1, 1923, to George and Lillian Francis of
Collins. She passed away July 10, 2006, at Council Bluff, Iowa, at age
82. She graduated from Collins High School in 1941. Jean was baptized
and belonged to the Church of Christ in Rogers, Ark.
Jean is survived by a daughter, Yevette Brannon, Council Bluff, Iowa;
sisters, Betty Martin, Humansville, Wilma Young, Rogers, Ark. and
Marilyn Franklin and her husband Carl, Kimberling City; brothers,
George Francis, Lee's Summit and Ralph Francis, Kansas City, Kan.;
five grandchildren and 14 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Joyce and an
infant brother, Bobby Joe.
Jean was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all her
family.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
FRANCIS, Raymond Russell
Raymond Russell Francis, the fourth son of Wilbert Thomas and Myrtle
Mae (Evans) Francis, was born on the Francis home farm on December 1,
1922, in Pleasant Valley near Rainy, MO, and passed away August 15,
2011 at Sac-Osage Hospital, Osceola, MO. Ray attended grade school at
Rainy Hill, District 80, and Osceola High School, graduating in 1941.
He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Christian Church, being
baptized in 1935 at Keller’s Camp on the Sac River. Ray and his mother
prepared communion of Sunday mornings. He also had the job of
secretary and treasurer at the church. After graduation he went to
California where he worked in an Air Craft factory in January 1942. On
December 9, 1942, he volunteered for the U.S. Air Force. After
training Ray graduated as a fighter pilot, flying P47 Thunderbolt
Fighters, with 55 missions in Europe. He won the Air Medal and 5 Oak
Leaf Clusters; he also wore the Presidential Unit Citation with one
Cluster. After returning home in 1945, Ray then went to Kansas City
where he worked for the Weather Bureau Forecast Center and later Air
Traffic Control in Kansas City. While working there he was recalled to
the service during the Korean conflict. He was sent to Japan and while
in the Far East he spent time in Japan, Korea, China, Formosa,
Okinawa. Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. He carried a top secret
clearance personal card. Ray returned home in 1958, where he farmed
with his brother Moss. In 1960 he went to Lake City, MN and bought a
large apple orchard which he worked until 1985. While in Lake City,
MN, Ray met and married Jean Lois Thompson in 1980. They moved back to
the St. Clair county farm near Rainey. She preceded him in death in
2006. Ray remained on the farm until 2008 when he moved to the nursing
home. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean, three
brothers, Harry, Melvin (Moss) and A. L. (Pete) Francis, his
stepdaughter, Toni Piar and a nephew Calvin Francis. Ray is survived
by his sister in-law Lillie Francis, two nieces Juanita Gumm and Norma
Haglund, one nephew, Dennis Francis, several great nieces and nephews,
2 step granddaughters, Brenda Fug and Kathy Piar, best friends, Joe
and Doris Norval, other relatives and friends.

Timothy R. (Paxston) Frankenfield, 21, of Kansas City, Kansas,
formerly of Roscoe, died Saturday, January 8, 1994 from injuries
received in an auto accident.
He was born in Kansas City, Kansas. When he was two the family moved
to Roscoe where he attended Roscoe Elementary School and Osceola High
School through his junior year. He graduated from
Shawnee Mission North High School in Overland Park, Kansas in 1990.
Tim was working for Tension Envelope in Kansas City as a machine
operator. He was a member of
the Roscoe Christian Church in Roscoe.
He is survived by his mother, Patty Frankenfield of the home; his
father, Larry Paxston of the home; one sister, Susan Kehr of Hamburg,
Pa.; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Kathryn Paxston of Osceola;
one nephew, Samuel Glen Kehn of Hamburg, Pa., other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Jan. 15, 1994 at 10 a.m. at the
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in the Butler
Cemetery near Roscoe. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m.
Friday at the funeral home.

William A. "Corky" Frankenfield, 62, Roscoe, died Wednesday morning,
April 13 at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. Funeral services will
be Friday, April 15, at 1 p.m. at the Sheldon Goodrich Chapel in
Osceola. Burial will be in the Roscoe Cemetery.
Mr. Frankenfield was born in Pittsburg, Ks. He moved with his family
to the Roscoe area in 1939. He had lived in the Kansas City area 35
years before returning to Roscoe in 1989. He was an Air Force veteran
of the Korean Conflict. He was an employee of the Armour Company 17
years and a 26-year employee of Ford Motor Company.
He is survived by his wife, Lamoyne of the home; three sons, Barthol
L. Frankenfield of Topeka, Ks., Robert L. Frankenfield and
daughter-in-law, Cindy, of Kansas City, and David Strugeon of Trimble;
one daughter, Cindy Youngblood of Berryville, Ark.; one sister-in-law,
Mrs. Alvina Frankenfield of Glendale, Arizona; six grandchildren, 11
nieces and nephews, 23 great-nieces and nephews, 11 great-great-nieces
and nephews.
FRASURE, James Rollian

Homocide -
Following a coroner’s inquest Monday afternoon, the death of James R.
Frasure of near Appleton City was ruled death by felony by person or
persons unknown.
The coroner’s jury delivered the verdict after brief deliberation
following the testimony of three witnesses questioned by Prosecuting
Attorney David H. Jackson. Called to testify were Lecil Inskeep,
Frasure’s neighbor and employer, and investigating officers Sheriff
Shirley Collins and Deputy Terry Cashell.
Frasure was found Saturday afternoon shot to death in the trailer home
where he lived about 12 miles northwest of Osceola and near Appleton
City. Inskeep discovered the body when he went to check with Frasure
who was supposed to be making phone calls for his employer. He saw the
body from the door of the trailer and returned to his home about ½
mile from the scene and called law enforcement officers.
Frasure had been shot four times with a .22 calibre weapon at the
distance of 2 to 3 feet, possibly from the door of the trailer,
according to witnesses. Two of the bullets entered the head, one
entered the neck, and the fourth entered the chest and went through
the body.
A coroner’s jury was impaneled Saturday afternoon and taken to view
the body. The six jurors and one stand-by were chosen from Osage
Township. After viewing the body, they were dismissed to reconvene on
Monday for the inquest.
A laboratory report given during the inquest proved that it could not
have been a case of suicide since it would have been impossible for
the victim to have fired all four of the shots. The shot that entered
the temple was determined to be the shot that ultimately caused
Frasure’s death, according to the report.
The body was taken to the Sac-Osage Hospital for X-rays to trace the
paths of the four bullets that killed Frasure, and then taken to the
Goodrich Chapel where an autopsy was performed.
The 48-year-old bulldozer operator lived alone on a farm near his
employer. The time of death was not stated, but one witness testified
to seeing Frasure at 9 p.m. the Friday night preceding his death.
Two guns were found in the trailer, but neither was the one used to
fire the fatal shots. One was a 270 calibre rifle and was found lying
on top of the divan. The other was an old single barrel shotgun which
was underneath the divan. The search for the murder weapon has been
unsuccessful, and at this time, the Sheriff’s Department is not
holding anyone for questioning in the case.
Sheriff Shirley Collins stated that robbery apparently was not a
motive for the crime. About $76 in cash was found in Frasure’s
billfold, and the contents of the trailer were not bothered.
Funeral services for James R. Frasure were held Tuesday at the
Goodrich Chapel. A complete obituary appears in the obituary section

Funeral services were held June 25 at two o’clock at Goodrich Chapel
for James Rollian Frasure, who died June 21 at the age of 48 years,
nine months and 20 days.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Jack Kiefer. Gavin Fenwick,
soloist, was accompanied by Allen Marr.
Pallbearers were Lecil Inskeep, Jack Hudgens, Carol Bartimus, Sam
Masten, J.W. Marshall and James Huffman. Interment was made in the
Appleton City Cemetery.
Mr. Frasure, only son of Maggie Garrison Frasure and Rollian Frasure,
was born Sept. 1, 1925, at Corbin, Mo. He spent most of his childhood
on a farm south of Johnson City.
During his boyhood days he attended the Mt. Zion Methodist church and
Washington rural school. He was graduated from Roscoe High School in
1944.
Shortly after graduation he was inducted into the United States Army
and served in the Luzon area of the Philippines with General Douglas
McArthur’s First Army of World War II.
For a time he was married to Arline Hays and they lived for several
years on Mr. Frasure’s boyhood place.
Preceding him in death were his mother in 1953 and his father in 1973.
Survivors are four sisters, Thelma Wyatt, Greenwood, Mo., Naida
Fenwick, Adrian, Wanda Frost, Butler, and Mary Lou Wishard, Warsaw;
three nieces and five nephews. --

Pioneer Passes Away -
Mr. S.S. Frazee, a pioneer of St. Clair county, died at his home in
the Ohio vicinity last Saturday; he had been in failing health for
some time and death was due to old age.
Deceased was a man of strict integrity and was highly respected in the
community where he had resided so long. He was 84 years old last
February. He is survived by his wife, several children and a large
circle of friends who revere his memory and mourn his death.
Funeral services were conducted at the family home Sunday morning at
11 o’clock by Rev. T.A. Clagett and interment was made in the city
cemetery.

Mr. Roy L. Freeman, age 84, of Collins, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July
15, 2008, in the Sac Osage Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He
was born July 7, 1924, in Roscoe, Mo., to Thomas and Elfa (Belisle)
Freeman. His parents; wife Bobbie Freeman; and brother, Tom Freeman,
preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons, Dave Freeman and
his wife, Lois, and Roy Freeman Jr. and his wife, Judy, all of
Collins, Mo.; two daughters, Linda McDermott and her husband, Jim, and
Stephanie Matoon and her husband, Tim, all of Denver, Colo.; two
brothers, Wilber and Albert Freeman of Colorado; a sister, Viola of
Oregon; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; as well as

Survivors include three children and two step children; Mrs. Elsie
Shrum of Rich Hill, John Freeman of Hobbs, N.M., George Freeman of

Orrin Edward Friar, 86, was born October 3, 1898, and passed away
August 27 at the Community Care Center in El Dorado Springs. Orrin,
son of Willis and Nellie Slavens Friar, was born in Laddonia, Mo., in
Audrain County. He spent most of his life as a carpenter in and around
the Tiffin vicinity.
He was united in marriage to Lola May Douns on March 23, 1922. They
had celebrated their 63 wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Lola, of the home; three sons – Jim, Edd
and Joe, all of El Dorado Springs; one daughter, Betty Helm, of Kansas
City; 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; two sisters,
Genevive and Jessie, preceded him in death.
Services were Friday, August 30, at the Hackleman-Peterman Chapel with
the Rev. Benny Gard officiating. Burial was in the El Dorado Springs
Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Friar, Jerry Friar, Dan Friar, Kenny
Friar, David Friar and Landon Helm.

His Sufferings Ended -
A Horrible Death from Hydrophobia at Brownington.
Clinton Daily Democrat -
Martin Friend, of Brownington, whose illness from supposed
hydrophobia, was chronicled in Saturday's Evening Democrat, died on
Saturday evening after horrible sufferings.
At 9 o'clock Saturday morning he grew much worse, and an hour later
hard convulsions set in and the poisonous saliva began flowing in
large quantities after each convulsion. In the afternoon it was found
necessary to strap him to the floor, and strong men were kept at hand
in case their assistance might be necessary. As night approached he
grew much weaker and at 8:15 he died.
Friend was a laboring man who has lived in Henry County twenty years.
When he first came here he lived several years at Lewis, but went to
Brownington over fifteen years ago. He leaves a wife, but no children.
The town board of Brownington have ordered an indiscriminate slaughter
of canines. It is said that the rabid animal which bit Friend also bit
a hog which died some time since.

Katherine Ann Frisbie was born November 17, 1946 in Bimidji,
Minnesota, to Richard James and Beryle (Elliott) Goodrich. She died
Saturday, October 19, 2002, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City. She
was married to Raymond Frisbie in Miami, Oklahoma, on October 30,
1987. They made their home in Belton, until moving to Lowry City in
1996. She was a clerk/typist for many years for the USGA. She was last
employed at the Missouri Division of Family Services in Clinton. She
was a member of Chapter #30, Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her
husband, Raymond "Doug" Frisbie, of
the home; two daughters, Cindy Foth of Peabody, Kansas, and Vicki
Winter of Overland Park, Kansas; two stepdaughters, Penny Kuykendall
of Belton and Tammy Bryson of Kansas City; one stepson, Dog Frisbie of
Kansas City; one brother, Michael Goodrich of Tucson, Arizona; nine
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives and many
friends. Funeral services were Monday, October 21, 10 a.m., at
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel, with Rev. Bill McCarty and Rev. Bob Fenwick

Robert L. Frizzell, son of Volley Albert and Grace May (Hobbs)
Frizzell, was born July 21, 1926, in Deepwater and died at the
Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, June 16, 2005, at the age of 78
years. He was married to Ethel May (Palmer) Frizzell, who preceded him
in death January 15, 1997.
He was in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a
steel worker. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and VFW
Post 1000, both of Independence and the United Steel Workers. He is
survived by three sons, Donnie Frizzell of Centerview, and Leslie C.
Frizzell of Bates City, as well as several grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Vansant-Mills
Chapel, Clinton, Saturday, June 18. Burial was in Clinton Memory
Gardens Cemetery, Clinton.
FUES, Ruth Evelyn Perrin

Ruth Perrin Fues, 81, Osceola, died Wednesday, December 25, 1996, at
the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola. Mrs. Fues, an English teacher, was
a longtime Osceola resident.
She is survived by a niece. Funeral services will be Saturday,
December 28, at 10 a.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola.
Burial will be in the Osceola Cemetery.
FULLER, Leota Ann Robison

Leota A. Fuller, 88, died June 29, 2006, at Independence Regional
Hospital. She was born June 7, 1918, in Malta, Mont., to James E. and
Vera M. Richardson Robison. In 1928 the family moved to Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years,
Sherman B. Fuller, her daughter, Shirley Rae Fuller and her brother,
Eldron L. Robison.
Her survivors include her son, Sherman E. Fuller and Pam of Pleasant
Hill and her daughter, Patricia Hickerson of Independence;
grandchildren, Gary D. Hickerson and Brenda and Jeffrey A. Fuller and
Stephanie Higgins; great grandchildren, Angela, Devon, Alison
Hickerson and Isaac Watson.
Services were Saturday, July 1 at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel officiated
by Rev. Michael L. Robison and Rev. Charles A. Robison.
Music wa by Pam Robison, organist.
Casketbearers were Sherman E. Fuller, Gary D. Hickerson, Michael L.
Robison, Jr., Jeffrey A. Fuller, Devon J. Hickerson and Charles F.
Robison.
Interment was in Kidds Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements were made by
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.

James Alfred Fulton, 59, passed away on July 26, 2006. He was born in
Clinton to the late James and Dorothy Steeber Fulton. He was a member
of Oaklette United Methodist Church in Chesapeake, Va.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lauretta Godfrey Fulton; one
daughter, Laura Elizabeth Fulton and two sons, Lawrence James Fulton
and Lance Paul Fulton; one stepson, Ray Wayne Owens, Jr.; one sister,
Sharon B. Fulton Pruitt and one brother, Lewis Chuck S. Fulton; five
grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family received family and friends Monday, July 31, at Twiford's
Colonial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family fund or a
memorial of the donor's choice.

James S. Fulton, 92, Nevada, formerly of Osceola, died Sunday, February
24, 2002, at Moore Few Care Center, Nevada.
Mr. Fulton was a plant operator 28 years for Missouri Public Service.
He was a lay minister for the Bear
Creek, Wheatland and Weaubleau United Methodist churches and the
Osceola United Brethren Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, Nevada; two sons, James A. and
wife, Lauretta, Chesapeak, Virginia, "Chuck" Lewis S. and wife,
Gwendolyn, Pleasant Hill; one daughter, Sharon B. and husband, Michael
Pruitt,
Bronaugh; a sister, Hallie Hartley, Osceola; nine grandchildren and
seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 28, at 11 a.m. at the
Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel in Osceola. Burial will be in the Osceola
Cemetery.
