Magistrate Court

The following cases were heard in magistrate court during the last week:

State vs. Eugene Lewis – “unlawfully play and bet money on game of chance with dice commonly called craps”. The defendant pled guilty and was fined $25.00 and costs of $8.50.

State vs. Floyd Bresee – careless and reckless driving. This charge was brought after the defendant ran into and damaged a car in Appleton City. He was fined $5.00 plus costs of $14.10.

State vs. Morrice G. Bunday of Kansas City – reckless driving. The defendant pled guilty and was fined $10 plus costs of $8.50. Suit also was brought against Mrs. Bunday for disturbing the peace and the case was set for June 17. Mr. and Mrs. Bunday were driving through Osceola Friday when City Marshal Ray Pace heard Mrs. Bunday yell “Help, police”. The highway patrol was notified and the two were picked up between Osceola and Clinton.
