COMMENTS from Webmaster Dave Lossos
(1) Philip was added to this list on October 20, 2004, based on article written by Jeremy Bangs. Philip later came to Plymouth on the Fortune.
(2) The following comment was received from George English on January 29, 2008. "The reference for Philippe being on the Speedwell is 'B. N. Leverland and J. D. Bangs, The Pilgrims in Leiden 1609-1620 (Leiden, 1984)' although they do not quote their source for this. Philippe was the nephew of Francis Cooke (not John) - Cooke's wife Hester Mahieu being the sister of Philippe's mother, Marie Mahieu. There is no evidence, apart from the same surname, of a relationship between Philippe and Marie de Lannoy, John Carver's wife, as suggested in the foreword to Wood's Francis Cooke of the Mayflower. There's more about these and other issues in the article Ancestry and History of Philip Delano, born Philippe de Lannoy that I've just published in the Mayflower Descendant (see http://www.massmayflower.org/publications/md/md-contents.htm)."
