"Help Keep the Kicks in Missouri's 66"
State Project 2008-2009
This year we are raising funds for the Route 66 Museum and Research Center in Lebanon, Missouri. Opened in 2004, this impressive 3,500-square-foot museum is inside the Laclede County Library and features faithful recreations of a 1950's gas station and a classic diner, plus a rotating display of antique cars. The collection includes thousands of Route 66 books, magazines and videos. The State Project donation will enable the museum to purchase display case labels and free-standing, indoor signage.
Method of Fund Raising: Funds will be raised by selling Route 66 lapel pins and opportunities on several desirable items. The State President will be promoting his project by traveling to each DAR District Meeting throughout Missouri as well as presenting his program at DAR and SAR chapter meetings and C.A.R. society meetings. Honorariums will be donated to the project.
