Marriage Records of Ray County, Missouri
A copy of marriage records can be found at the Ray County Recorders office.
The records consist of the name of the bride and groom, date married and who they were performed the marriage.
Very few have parents names or place of marrige. During the early years of the county the marriages may not have
been recorded until a much later date. The reason being that the minister performing the marriage may not have
traveled to the court house until much later and then would record all of the marriage's he had performed from
his last visit to the court house.

They will not look for a marriage record. You must know the date.
NOTE: Kansas did not have a waiting period for couples to get married. However, at this time, I do not know
what time frame this is. It was still in effect in the 1940's. If the couple lived in Ray County, and you are unable
to find a marriage record in Missouri for this couple and the fact that the Kansas border is not too far away from
Ray County, a search of Kansas marriage records would be the next area to search.
