Minnie Points, May 1, 1912
H.R. 17538. Minnie Points, aged 43 years, is the helpless and dependent
daughter of Abraham Points, who served as a private in
Copany C, Forty-second Regiment Missour1 Volunteer Infantry,
from August 11, 1864 to June 28, 1860 (10 months).
Address, Powersville, Mo.
Soldier was pensioned under the act of June 27, 1890, at $12. He
died April 14, 1897. He and the mother of applicant were married
November 8, 1847. She died April 6, 1911. The mother was pensioned under the act of June 27, 1890, at $8 from June 11, 1897, and
at $12 from April 19, 1908.
No one IS now pension on soldiers Service.
Applicant was born March 8, 1869, and from her infancy was
unable to care for herself, being helpless.
Dr. A. D. Ellis, who has known her for 12 fears, says she is an
invalid and not able to work or support herself, and that she was dependent
upon her mother until she died.
The widow died leaving no property for her support. She is now
destitute and cared for by friendly hands.
Dr. F. E. Cozad has known applicant for 30 years; says she is
physically and mentally helpless, and is entirely dependent on her
friends and relatives, being mentally incapacitated.
Following precedents, an allowance of $12 a month is proper.
