PUTNAM COUNTY MISSOURI AHGP MILITARY FILES U. S. House Committee on Invalid Pensions
Frederick Draper, January 5, 1908
H. R. 9652.
Frederick Draper, aged 59 years, whose post-office
address is Powersville, Mo., is the helpless and dependent son of
Thomas Draper, late a private and corporal, Company G, Eighteenth
Regiment Missouri Infantry, from July 8, 1861, to July 18, 1865,
who was a pensioner under certificate No. 148525 at the rate of $12
per month and who died April 19, 1907.
The parents of this applicant were married December 30, 1865.
The mother was pensioned under certificate No. 644420 to the date of
her death, November 27, 1915. The applicant has no title to pension under
existing laws for the reason that he attained the age of
16 years prior to the date of the soldiers death.
The medical and other evidence filed in support of this bill indicates
that applicant is the legitimate son of the soldier and has required the
regular aid and attendance of another person from early childhood by
reason of inbecility.
The evidence also shows that applicant has 12 acres of timberland
which is worthless. It does not appear he has any other means or
property or income from any source.
No one is legally bound to his support and he is dependent upon
charity for sustenance and shelter.
It is recommended that his name be placed on the pension roll at
the rate of $20 per month.
