DateJune 20, 2007
I am looking for information about Alington/Harrison/Pillman Cemetery. My parents met with two members of the current cemetery association and was told there are no records. My family members were buried there starting in 1922 till 1987. If anybody knows where I can find records of where people are actualy buried before the current association took over would be a great help. Most family graves have a monument to mark their grave site. Two were recently moved. I am looking for any information that shows occupied grave sites(other than a monument). Any parts of this puzzle may help. I have already contacted two funeral homes that handled the funerals and one monument company that provided some of the monuments. Thank you [email protected]

I am looking for any information I can find on Maria Belton. She came to Missouri in the early 1900's and homesteaded in Phelps county. She had four children. John, William, Orville and Dora. She came to Missouri from Illinois, Adams County, where her husband, Thomas Belton, died. She brought the four children to the Arlington area and set up a homestead and stayed there until she died. Not sure of her death date, but she is buried in the cemetery on top of a hill above a gravel plant on Highway 44.

She is my great-grandmother and would appreciate any information I can get on her.

Thanks, Marge Malloy

I am trying to put together a family tree and Rose Ready Bishop was my great-grandfather, Richard Ready's, sister. Thanks!! Lisa Ready James

BOWLES-COPPEDGE  12 Feb 2006

Looking for any information on WILLIAM and NANCY COPPAGE BOWLES who lived in early Phelps County, Big Piney area - they were first listed in Pulaski and Crawford before these counties became Phelps. Am also interested in the following report:

In the Pulaski County History 1889, page 125, there is the following line: "In 1847, Nancy Bowles was the first person indicted for murder..."

Unfortunately no other information is given on this. It is possible that this was Nancy Coppedge Bowles, or a daughter of William and Nancy Coppedge Bowles or was it a neice or sister-in-law of William Bowles.

The Courthouse was burned after that date and has no record of this situation. It is interesting that William and Nancy Coppedge Bowles apparently moved to Reynolds county not long after 1847, perhaps in 1850.

I am looking for any information regarding John R. and Rebecca Brown. John Brown was born in Missouri in 1834 and died in Phelps Co., Missouri in 1899. The 1880 census indicates her parents were born in Ohio. John and Rebecca had at least 7 children - Ida (born abt 1862), Olive (born abt 1866), Florence (born abt 1868), Minnie (born abt 1872), Inez (born Jan, 1876), Clarence E.
