Francis Marion Cox was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He married Sallie Chapman in Shelbina, MO on January 25, 1882. Sallie was born in Paris, MO. They had four children: Everett, Gertrude, William and Earl. Francis died at his home just north of Paris, MO on May 15, 1896 after a short illness at the age of 46 years. Sallie died in 1935 at the age of 73 years. They had lived their entire married life and raised their children on a farm just north of Paris, MO. Both Francis and Sallie are buried in the Salem Church Cemetery in Paris. (submitted by Ron & Lou Rollings)
