Elliff Cemetery
McDonald County, Missouri
Sec. 7, Twp.22N, Range 32W.
Cemetery is directly behind McDonald County High School east of Business 71 on Mustang Lane.
There was evidence of vandalism. The cemetery underwent extensive renovation in the early 1970's, removing brush and small trees plus sealing the ground with plastic and new stones. Steel posts and fence were added in 1974 thru donations collected by Glen and Ina Elliff of Anderson. The concrete walls were donated by J.D. Elliff in the mid 1950's.
Even though this property has not been owned by the family since the original property was put up for sale in 1902, the family thru work and donations have maintained the cemetery. Land owners have never contributed to the upkeep of the cemetery and have always treated it as "someone else's land". Most notable for the upkeep during the past 25 years have been Glen (Shorty) and Ina Elliff of Anderson; Mike and Imogene Elliff of Pineville, Sue and Jon Lawrence of Tulsa; Laura Chenoweth, Rubelle rickett, Ken Michelson of oklahoma
1992- wooden fence added June to duplicate style of fence in front of the old farm house picture taken in 1892. Donated by Rickett family plus John B. and Joseph C. Elliff, Jr. grandsons of J.D. (Uncle Joe) Elliff
There are several unmarked stones
