There are numerous private cemeteries in Warren Township. In township 57, range 7, perhaps the oldest is the Forman burying groun in sw. sw. of section 24. The first interment was that of the body of Wm. Forman, in 1827. Other private cemeteries in this township and range are the Haden cemetery, sw. section 12, the Pemberton cemetery in ne. section 2, and another in sw. section 15.

In the cemetery at Sharpsburg the first burial was that of an Indian, in 1839.
