Lodge No. 24, A. O. U. W., was instituted by D. D. G. M. M. W.
Newton, of Quincy, Illinois, with about 40 members. The charter
and dispensation were issued August 15, 1877. The
first officers were R. E. Anderson, P. M. W. ; H. J.
Drummond, M. W.; E. P. Moore, F.; R. N. Sharp, O. ; J. H. Donley,
recorder; J. M. Bates, receiver; F. W. Lane, financier; E. 0.
Kibby, guide; J. C. S. Stafford, I.
W.; A. K. Zeigler, O. W. The lodge meets every Monday night
in the hall in the First National Bank building. The present
membership numbers 80.
