Genealogy Report

.

1.  Your kit number   --  160999  ____________

2.  Your name _ LIVING    ________________

3.  Why did you join the Lost Colony project?

I found  my family name in the “family of interest” list

4.  How is your Y-line DNA line connected to the colonists, the surnames, Native people or the location?

Not sure, but I believe we may trace back to NC

5. Please provide a brief writeup (2 paragraphs to one page in length) on your line that has DNA tested!

Our family follows this line.  Me, my father: Eddie E Buck b. 1931, his father Robert Lee Buck b. 1909, his father: Morgan Edward Buck b. 1868, his father: William Morgan Buck b. 1848, His father: Morgan Buck b.1804 (in North Carolina, probably; photo of headstone from Patrick AR cemetery attached to e-mail.)

Morgan Edward Buck was in the land for the Cherokee outlet in the Indian Territory in 1893.  He proved up on his homestead.  Two children were born in a sod house.  He then moved to other locations in OK.

The family belief is that we descended from 2 brothers immigrated from England and landed in Penn.  The family thinks that Bucks Co., Penn. is named for one or both of them.  I don’t.  I believe my ancestor landed in NC and moved from there to Penn and then back to NC or maybe VA.  I have not found the verification of this yet.  But the line back to Morgan b.1804 is pretty solid even though there are many Morgan Bucks around that time.

6.  Mini-Genealogy From Participant to Oldest Ancestor (complete form below)

Completing the form below, enter the current generation’s name in line 1 and add each generation on subsequent lines through your oldest ancestor.  You don’t need to provide personal info for living individuals, just a placeholder name.   For living people, don’t include the maiden name of the spouse.

PUT LC in subject line.

Roberta, I sent the attached file back to you the other day but it may not have gone through.  So, I am sending it again.  I put some family info in the appropiate places as requested.  However, there is much more info.  I have begun compiling the family history info and the genealogy into Rootsmagic software.  If you would be interested in any of this let me know.  I would be glad to share.  We have photos, homestead from the land run of 1893 in the indian territory (Cherokee outlet) and much more.  The info goes back to Morgan Buck in NW Ark.  Even photos of his headstone which is clearly legible.  Let me know if any of it is of interest.
