Why use FamilyTreeDNA as your testing company....

Some companies have much cheaper test; however, I have had many folks from these other DNA companies come to me LOST and looking for help.

For people who are inquiring about DNA companies, I send these 10 reasons why to pick FTDNA.

Advantages to testing at FTDNA are:

(1.) FTDNA saves your Y-DNA sample "free" for 25 years. Any retest or new test can be run during that 25 years. This is great as my cousins are in their 70's.

(2.) FTDNA may run a backbone test "free of charge" if they cannot predict your ancestral haplogroup.

(3.) FTDNA will run the test over as many times as it takes if a marker is not found in the first test run. Many other companies report blanks and will not rerun.

(4.) FTDNA has staff onsite manning their phone lines Monday-Friday 8-5 to answer questions or solve problems.

(5.) FTDNA's website is structured to acquaint everyone with DNA testing with many pages of detailed information and videos at the FTDNA website to answer questions.

(6.) And at FTDNA you have over a 1500 project coordinators (like me) to help interpret results and put you in touch with close cousins.

(7.) FTDNA provides a 2nd free YSEARCH database for those who are genealogists around the world who want to link up to cousins and want to be DNA tested.

(8.) FTDNA also provide advanced SNP tests, CODIS makers, and other advanced markers panels.

(9.) Bennett Greenspan, the CEO is a genealogist and this company for set up for genealogists.

(10.) And FTDNA provides all the kits and runs the tests for the National Geographic GENOGRAPHIC project run by Spencer Wells.
