Early settlers in the 1800's first discovered the White Squirrels of Marionville, Mo., in Lawrence County. No one seems to know why they prefer the Marionville area over any other in the United States. Biologists and zoologists have been unable to solve the mystery of the origin of this rare strain of white albino squirrels.
