BIGBEE
I am interested in any information anyone may have on the Bigbee family that lived in the Stotts City-Bowers Mill area of Lawrence co. in the later part of the 19th century. David J. Bigbee m. Cynthia Tinsley and moved to Lawrence co. sometime after 1850--probably after the Civil War. I believe they owned a farm and they raised 12 children: Rue, Dade, Floss, Nell, Maye, Ida, Blonn, Frank. Believe they were in NW corner of Arkansas prior to this. William and son, Gideon Moses, were killed in an explosion of either a saw mill or threshing machine in 1873 in Lawrence Co. They moved to Polk Co., MO. Mary Jane BLACKBURN m. John C. HUNT in 1870. They moved to Delta, Delta Co., CO @1880. Thomas W. BLACKBURN m. Mary Elizabeth SKEEN in 1872 and moved to Montrose Co. CARMEN
I'm looking for information regarding the Carman surname. My father's name was Emerson Carman, Jr, b. Dec 26, 1913, Springfield, MO. His father's name was Emerson Carman, b. Oct 1889; d. Oct 1959. I believe he was born somewhere in southwest Missouri, but I'm not sure of the town. He had a brother whose name was Earl Carman who was married to Wanda; they lived in southwest Missouri. My father's mother was Hattie Fair, b. April 1889; d. February 1920. and she came from Cape Fair, MO. I'm not sure when Emerson and Hattie were married, but probably around 1910-12. My grandfather, Thurman Allen G. Chandler, b. Lawrence co. MO, 14 Jul 1888; son of John G. Chandler, b. 1861, KY and Mary Elizabeth Rhorer, b 1866, KY. Thurman Allen d. from miner's cough, 8 Aug 1920; buried in Sarcoxie, MO Cemetery. Thurman Allen and sister, Lillian May, b. 1893 were orphaned and raised by their maternal grandparents in Sarcoxie. I found John G. in Joplin 1900 Census listed as a widowed boarder, but unable to locate death record. Also no record for Mary Elizabeth's death prior to 1900. Any help would be appreciated. Ira L. David Bascom is said to have known Frank and Jesse James and may have been in a guerilla band with them. Can't find his name connected with them during their outlaw days after the war, but would interested to find out if this is true. I would like information on Hetty E. (Elizabeth?) White, b. 28 Aug 1848, MO; d. 2 Feb 1889 Fayetteville, Washington co. AR, buried Mount Comfort Cemetery. All I have to place her in Lawrence co is a marriage record to Edward Huls on 11 Mar 1863. At the time, Edward was serving with the 6th KS Cavalry which was presumably stationed nearby. The marriage record in his pension record, spelled his name Hults. I would like to find more about Hetty's family so any information would be greatly appreciated.
