Research Note: The name on the stone is incorrect-family error. Her name was Sarah T Haworth Cook Thornton, born about 1828 in IL, daughter of George and Mary Thornton Haworth. 1880 Census, Barry Co MO, Henry and Sarah Thornton are ages 50 and 52, respectively. Sarah is not buried in this cemetery. Location unknown, probably in Barry Co.

Research Note: According to notes I have the full name is Felix Elmer Pruitt, son of Andrew Jackson Pruitt and Elizabeth 'Eliza' Martin Morris. According to VOL XII buried next to Felix is his wife, Addie Pruitt, June 10, 1968-Dec 4, 1957. Her full name was Arabella Adelaide Gaw Pruitt, and she was the daughter of Henry Harrison Gaw and Mary Mahala 'Hala' Pruitt. VOL XII Boucher Cemetery was read in 1970 so whatever stone there was then for Addie could now be unreadable?

Research Note: According to XII, read in 1970, Isaac Moody is buried in row 9 of Boucher. Isaac was the son of Samuel Moody and Nancy Raleigh. Wife, Malinda Emily Bonner, Dec 23, 1809- Jan. 20, 1864, is buried between him and a stone that in 1870 could not be read and that stone is next to Felix and Addie Pruitt. The stones of Isaac and Malinda Moody may not now be readable?

Research Note: We are pained to announce the death of Jesse Hunter, who died of asthma on the 25th alt. For many years he had been a resident of this county. He was a soldier in the Black Hawk war. For many years he had been a member of the Baptist Church and when he closed his earthly career he left behind no enemy and peacefully went forward to meet the reward due the faithful in the world that knows no trouble, sin or sorrow.

Research Note: Died: At Eureka Springs, Ark., on last Sunday, Aug. 1st, at 4 o'clock p.m., Mrs. Kate McCanse, wife of W.A. McCanse of this place. Mrs. McCanse was a native of Illinois and was born in 1831, and came to this state at an early day. She had been suffering much from rheumatism for more than fifteen years. The deceased was a member of the C.P. Church and the funeral services were conducted by Rev. L.A. Dunlap at her late residence and her remains interred Tuesday in the cemetery at this place.

Research Note: Vicki: These graves are on property that belonged to my family in the late 1940's to 1964. Amanda Vancil, daughter of Gideon and Martha, married Peter D. Pennington and is probably buried in the Pennington Cem. The daughter of Peter and Amanda that I remember are Edith Pennington Moore who was married to Charles Moore and were the grandparents of Don, Beverly, Barbara, Dale and Brenda. The other Pennington daughter I knew was Nina who was married to Don Bryant and who are buried in Stahl. Edith and Charles Moore are buried in Salem. Lynda

Married second Carolyn S. - He worked for the Aurora Road District, Glen Garrett Manufacturing Co. in Cassville, and drove a truck for Litton. He drove a race car from 1971 till 1973 in southern California. Survivors include: his wife Carolyn whom he married June 28, 1985; one daughter, one step-son; two brothers, Lloyd Long of Salton Sea Beach, Calif., and David Long of Purdy; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, Jim, Bill, John, Buster, Gary and George and two sisters, Betty Bartel and Beverly Garber.

Death Notices Springfield News Leader, Springfield, Mo., Jan 11, 2004 Mrs. Carolyn Long, 59, Aurora, a medical technician, died Friday (9 Jan 2004) in Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon. Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Monday in Maple Park Cemetery, Aurora, under direction of Peterson Funeral Chapel. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Monday in Aurora Baptist Temple. Carolyn had one son by a previous marriage.
