- | - | - | C.P. Age 42 OUR RELATIVES, a large, dark stone (Starritt family), the family of Lucinda Starritt who married John Whitmore Harper, the oldest son of Henry and Margaret Duncan Harper M. Y. Starritt S. M. Starritt E. Starritt Anderson Starritt,, born 1829 NC, died 28 Jan 1870 Bowers Mill, buried 3 Jan 1871 C. W. (Charles) Starritt struck by lightening, born 1867, died 1873 J.W.H. Fieldstone marker with W underlined showing that he went by his middle name. We believe this is the grave of Joseph Wiley Harper, born ab 1819 in Sumner Co, TN, died 1862-63 of pleurisy contracted during the war in the Confederate army. 3 stones with just the letter M on them, one with MMM on it which had been buried and was found 5-2/82. Another stone OUR RELATIVES which we believe is our Grier family. Catherine Grier used to go to this cemetery and sit for hours at each of the graves of our family there. Per Pauline Driskill Sheil, Aaron Buttram and Eveline Buttram are buried with the Starritts. I would appreciate it if you would update the records of this cemetery to include these facts. There are signs of many other graves, so there may be even more of my family buried here as well as others. |
