STOP!
Your Help with Knox County Data!
Read on if you would like to help ......
I wish I had all the data for Knox County.
If
you can obtain or provide information in Knox please contact me, and I will add it to
"Our
Knox County Site". I sure would appreciate it. I get back to Knox County
as often as I can and visit the Knox County Library and Courthouse to obtain what records I can find
and copy.
If you live in Knox Co. and can obtain information, that would be just GREAT! My last visit I copied the 1850 census ($10).
I would like to have some
generous volunteers to help me gather and transcribe information. Their names
will be listed with the information that they provide and or transcribe.
You can see there is a long way to go in having the Knox County site
completed but it is a living document and will be a forever project.
*smile*
Here's an Idea !!!!!
Have you ever wanted to
contribute your efforts to help out with "Our Knox Site",
but don't have the time or the access to
transcribe a whole group of public records? Well, now here's your chance
to contribute! This forum is based upon submissions made by Knox County
researchers, like you,
who would like to make the information in the records that you have personally
looked up and recorded available to other researching the same people.
Just think of all of the time and money that could be saved if every genealogist
would post the information they have gathered on a public site like this one.
In no time at all, we would have most of the censuses transcribed ONLINE!
So, if you have KNOX COUNTY public records that you
have PERSONALLY researched (i.e. submissions
of scanned data from published sources CANNOT be accepted. Data from the
ACTUAL records themselves are FREE from copy right and CAN be submitted
for inclusion in the forums below. Just download the file that is
applicable to the data you are submitting). E-mail the info to Claudia.
Please use the sample of information which includes
valuable information listed below each record type. If that
information is not listed on the record, please indicate this in your email.
Copied data from the ACTUAL records themselves are FREE from copyright and CAN
be submitted for inclusion in the this forum, click
here to contribute and down load the
files to get you started on your way!
Thank you for your
efforts !
If you have a photocopy of a page
of census records (such as a microfilm copy), please feel free to submit each
name, instead of just the name of your ancestor. Our database will grow more
quickly this way!
NOTE: Please do NOT submit records for individuals
who are still living in this forum. They will not be posted.
OK now you can
continue to enjoy "Our Knox County" site ...
