Built in 1894-95 at a cost of $100,000, this grand building is still use today and located on the Carthage Square. The original courthouse, built in 1849 was a brick structure and was burned to the ground during the Civil War. |
Jasper County Courthouse, Joplin, Missouri
This brick and stone courthouse was built on the southwest corner
of 7th and Virginia at a cost of $20,000.00 and served for only 17 years. A fire destroyed the courthouse in 1911. All that remains is the "1894" cornerstone. |
