Welcome
United Daughters
of the Confederacy®.
The Independence Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy was organized in 1903 by Mrs. J W. Mercer. Like the community from which we take our name, our chapter and its members are proud of our rich heritage. We are ever mindful of our Southern roots and their role in shaping who we have become. With that in mind, we are also attuned to the realities and responsibilities of today's woman and develop our programs and projects accordingly.
We are glad you are interested in UDC and the Independence chapter. Please take a few moments to get to know us. Explore our website, and then contact us to learn more about UDC.
Remember, membership in UDC begins by contacting a chapter and getting more information. Perhaps you are just in the exploratory stage; maybe you have a proven ancestor, or maybe you need help connecting all the dots.
Thank you for visiting. We look forward to meeting you.
