I am looking for information on the Hickerson family of Boonesboro, Howard County, Missouri. I am looking for Stephen Hickerson, b-in Missouri; d-in Howard County, Missouri, buried in a small church cemetery in Booneboro. He was married to a S. A. ??? and they had the following children: Frank, James (Jim), Sophia, Jewell, and 3 that died in very young and in infancy.
They had a farm in Boonesboro but I can't remember exact location of it. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Jewell Hickerson md. William H. My Grandmother was Nova Temple SMITH, Born Howard County, Mo Jan 18, 1898, so I am told. She married Elton Earl BICKELL April 3, 1916 (?) in Beatrice, Nebraska. Subscequent moves brought them to Edwardsville, where she passed away Feb 15, 1971. I am told she is of Lakota Sioux heritage. I can find no history of her except I know she exsisted and I was there when she died. Most of her children are now passed, also, and I am receiving no information from any of my father's family. I am trying to identify the parents of Jarvis WOODS, born April 17, 1812, in Howard County. He spent most of adult life in Grundy Co., Mo., dying there in 1882. He married Amanda DEVAUL Feb. 26, 1838, in Livingston Co., Mo. All that I know about his parents is from a history book on Grundy Co. It states that his parents were Kentuckians by birth and settled in Mo. in 1808. When Jarvis was just 7 days old, his family was driven into Cooper's Fort in Howard Co. by the Indians and remained in the fort for 4 years. When Jarvis was 17, the family moved to Keytesville, Chariton Co. That's all I have found on his parents, so would much appreciate any additional info.
