Smith Cemetery is located in section 30 of Bethany Township, Harrison County, and is approximately three miles southwest of Bethany. From Bethany, go west on Highway 136 to the first gravel road to the left. Continue south at the first intersection. The road will turn to the west, then back to the south. At the second turn, the cemetery is well off the roadway to the right (west). Very few stones remain and it is considered abandoned. It is on private property and not accessable by vehicle. It is several hundred yards from the road and can only be found with assistance from local residents or the landowner.

The cemetery is on property originally owned by Vincent Smith and is essentially the Smith family graveyard. The cemetery was landscaped, the stones reset and a new fence built as an Eagle Scout project by Logan Kelim. His family, who are descendents of Vincent Smith, maintain the cemetery.

The following information was compiled by Phil Stewart in October, 2003, from old surveys, burial records and other information obtained at the Harrison County Genealogy Library in Bethany, Harrison County, Missouri. It should not be considered a complete list of burials. The cemetery was located and photographed in September, 2012 with the help of Les Kelim.
