1842 Yancey Co., NC; d.1933 Springfield, MO. He was married to
2nd. Elizabeth McNutt. Their children: McKinley,Julia, Ruby,
James, Claude, and Verna. He was md. 1st. to E. Loretta Cole
in 1872 in Yancey Co., NC. She died in 1892. Their children:
Martha Evelyn, M. Theophilus, Cura Leotta(my great grandmother),
George Amos Ostie(was a lawyer in Springfield 1920's? through
1940's), Lattie Carl, Ben, and Emit Roy. I believe that Joseph
L. Ray was a minister and a lawyer.

born 1834 in VA (Where?). She was the daughter of Leonard G. Rowland and
Naomi H. ????(Who was she?). She married John Lester Pitman in 1857
Macoupin co IL. They moved to MO in 1857. She died 1-22-1915 in Greene
co MO. Many of her descendants still live in SW Missouri.

Ann Miniver Gately born Ebenzer(sp?) Mo April 19, 1859 Married Samuel
L.C.P.B.D.Peck ( I have all the names, the family believed in long
ones.)He was born in Tennessee May 24, 1846. He had a sister, part of
her name was Narcissa. Nancy Ann & "Com" (as he was called) were married
at Ebeneezer Missouri April 29, 1891. They had one child, Maranda Byanka
(Mae) Peck.Born at Hickory Barren Mo. June 10, 1894. Mae married Paul Lee
Davis in Springfield on Nov 3, 1915. They had a dairy farm near
Springfield for many years, until they moved to California in the 1950's.
Paul was on the School board for many years, I think Pleasant Hope. I

I am looking for any
information on a M.C. Moses, the son of Mary Elizabeth Cardwell Moses,
he was living at 1103 East Bower street in the 1930's. A newspaper article
shows his mother living with him until she broke a leg & returned to a
nursing home. She died in Jan. 27,1937, obituary in the Springfield
Leader & Press date Jan 27, 1937. Her name in the paper is Plaster, but
she was married to a Moses before she married John Plaster in 1876,
I need any info on her at time she was married to Moses, do not know
the father's first name.

information on Dicie Brown (b. April 16, 1807 in Va.) She married a
Daniel Fender date unknown and died May 30, 1890 in Greene County,
Missouri. (Have that it may have been Springfeild) Violet Brown (b. 1815)
married a Levin Routh in Green County, Missouri on Aug. 12, 1838. I also
have Violet's sister Mary Elizabeth as being married to a Hugh C. Routh
in Polk County. Are these two Rouths related? The Brown family mainly
lived in Greene County and Polk County in Missouri.

graves of my great-great grandparents, Bailey Crocker and Sarah Tait
Crocker. I've heard that they're buried in a Methodist Church cemetery
near Fair Grove. I don't have dates of death, but imagine they would be
in the 1840s, 1850s.

Information I have says that
William Burt Linney and wife Ellenora Van Horn both are buried in Maple
Park Cemetery, Springfield, Mo. William was b. Tarrant Co. TX on 28 Aug.
1867 and d. 3 Aug 1943. His father was William Carlyle Linney and his
mother was Mary Ann (Mollie) Kelso, daughter of Henry Decater and
Margaret Keith Kelso.
William B. was on the 1900 census of Grundy Co. Mo so I do not know when
he moved to Greene Co. My information says he was an attorney. I would
like to be contacted by descendants of this family.

Looking for descendents of James
Edward Hoffman, born c. 1861 in Maury County TN, died c. 1949 in
Springfield MO. He married Maggie D. Brown in Maury County on 1 December
1887. Both are buried in Mount Nebo Cemetery near Williamsport in Maury
County TN. They had at least one son, Leslie Whitfield Hoffman, who
died in MO and is also buried at Mount Nebo. James Edward was the
younger brother of my great-grandfather, Charles Whitfield Hoffman.

I am looking for
information on the birth family of Dicena Druscilla Townsend. She married
Meredith Carter in 1852 in Greene County, and they had at least two
children; the oldest, Mary Susan Carter Snyder, is my great-grandmother.
Meredith was (I think) from Oldham County, KY, and had come to Greene
County recently in 1852. He bought land in Greene County in 1854.
Sometime during the Civil War, he was killed by bushwhackers. Dicena
married again (a Kelly) and moved to St. Clair County. I'd appreciate any
help I could get regarding Townsends in Greene County during this period.

County family who is listed in the Greene County 1850 census:
dob=abt 1801 somewhere in Tennessee
dob=abt 1816 in Chariton County, Mo.
suspect this couple was married abt 1835, but do not know the location of
their marriage. They had at least 7 children born within Greene County,
Mo. from abt 1836 until 1848. This couple is NOT found in the 1860 Greene
County census, but is in the 1850 Greene County census. Any information
in regards to birth location and parental lineages of this couple would
be most appreciated.

She was a daughter of John Robertson Jr. and Mary. Alice had
10 brothers and sisters from about 1860 to 1889, they were
Julia, Amy, Anna, Mary, Molly, Regan, Matie, Magie, Ida, and
